Job Description

Position Summary

Responsible for administrative and operational aspects of governance activities in the Office of the Secretary.

Job Responsibilities

  • Serves as first point of contact for inquiries to the Office of the Secretary. Responds to, or triages, inquiries as needed.
  • Responsible for ordering and maintaining basic office supplies for the Office of the Secretary.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by the Deputy Secretary.
  • Circulate communications to Board members, executive and faculty leadership, and other stakeholders as needed. In some instances, the Communications & Operations Specialist will also be responsible for drafting communications.
  • Responsibility for handling certain tasks, such as administering the process for conducting faculty council elections.
  • Manages scheduling for meetings of the Weill Cornell Board of Fellows, Board committees, and faculty councils; coordinates and tracks attendance; compiles meeting books; handles meeting logistics; and the like.
  • Manages and tracks completion of Office of the Secretary calendar-of-work.
  • Primary responsibility for uploading, organizing, and maintaining governance materials in an organized and accessible manner in departmental files and the Board online portal.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree

Experience

  • Approximately 3-5 years of relevant experience
  • Experience interacting directly with executive and Board-level colleagues is preferred.
  • Experience working in an academic or healthcare environment is preferred.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with multiple concurrent demands.
