Job Title: Commis Chef
Location: Hays, Kansas
Type: Full-time or Part-time
Responsibilities:
- Assisting the senior chefs in food preparation and cooking to uphold the highest culinary standards.
- Maintaining a clean and organized kitchen workspace to ensure smooth operations.
- Learning and executing recipes with precision and creativity to deliver exceptional dishes.
- Contributing innovative ideas for menu development, incorporating seasonal and locally-sourced ingredients.
- Collaborating with the team to maintain inventory and control costs while minimizing waste.
- Complying with food safety and sanitation regulations to ensure the highest level of hygiene.
- Embracing the fast-paced environment of a fine dining establishment and staying composed under pressure.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Commis Chef or similar role in a professional kitchen setting.
- Culinary education or relevant apprenticeship/training is preferred.
- A passion for food and dedication to delivering high-quality dishes.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions precisely.
- Ability to work effectively in a team, communicate clearly, and support colleagues.
