About us

National College Resources Foundation (NCRF) is a nonprofit educational enhancement organization. NCRF's mission is to curtail high school dropout rate and increase enrollment to degree or certification programs among underserved, underrepresented, at risk, low resource and homeless and foster students. Our vision is to close the gap in achievement, workforce and economic disparities with the goal to end racism and racial inequalities.

College and Career Mentor

• Meet with students virtually to provide college and career guidance
• Develop presentation and resources for students
• Mentor and coach students academically and social-emotionally
• Attend weekly/biweekly meetings with co-workers and supervisors
• Attend training sessions/ staff development meetings

Minimum Requirements

• Have some understanding of DACA and Dream Act (Recommended)
• Able to work effectively with others
• Patient and able to connect with students
• Must be available for at least 8-16 hours per week from 4pm to 8pm, Monday-Thursday
• Strong Mentoring Skills
• Must have a computer with reliable internet access
• Bi-lingual in Spanish (Highly recommended)
• Must have a post-secondary degree or working towards one
• Be knowledgeable with college readiness, college & career planning
• Passionate about making a difference among underrepresented and underserved students, including homeless and foster students
• Be knowledgeable of the FAFSA and the financial aid process

• $17.00 - $19.00/hour

Education

• Working towards or have obtained post-secondary degree/certificate

Experience

• Tutoring or mentoring
• College and Career Planning: 1 year (Preferred)
