Job Description
Manhattan-based, KM Associates of New York, Inc., is a highly experienced team of experts who provide building code, zoning law, and expediting services to architects, engineers, construction professionals, developers, and building managers in the New York City metropolitan area.
KM Associates of New York, Inc. is looking to grow its business and operating structure and is actively seeking professional, personable, proactive, and talented team members.
Code and Zoning Specialist Essential Qualifications and Functions:
  • Meets with DOB commissioners.
  • Manage ALT-1, ALT-2, and New Building Projects.
  • Prepare CCD-1/ZRD- 1.
  • Expert knowledge of building codes & zoning resolution
  • General understanding of all application filings.
  • Understanding of the concepts of construction.
  • Knowledge of CO requirements.
  • Utilize professionalism when dealing with co-workers and clients
  • Scopes new projects.
  • Preparation of RFP’s and Change Orders.
  • Prepare arguments for code and zoning determinations.
  • Understanding of relationships between city agencies.
  • Ensures all billing is added on the day of completion to the code & zoning billing file.
  • Understanding of what processes, forms, and filing is necessary as a result of a review of plans.
  • Analyze and resolve objections.
  • Keep abreast of new updates in code/zoning bulletins and provide updates to KM Office
  • Maintain excellent communication with clients and attends meetings and conference calls.
  • Proficient with all NYC codes, zoning resolution, memorandums, building bulletins, TPPN’s.
  • Full understanding of how all agencies work (DOB, DOT, FDNY, DEP, Landmarks, etc.).
  • Provides support for all filings to all Project Managers, Project Coordinators, and Partners.
  • Ability to perform code and zoning analysis and prepare comprehensive, detailed & professional communications
  • Financial Management of project budgets and billing.

KM Associates is the sister company to Crosscheck Inspections.
This is a full-time (M-F, 9a-5:30p) position located at the KM Associates of New York office in Manhattan.
