CNC Lathe Machinist
Overview

Phoenix partners with key manufacturers to produce critical flight safety components; we help maintain a competitive and technological advantage. We provide lean processes for machining of Customer-designed components producing complex geometries at very close tolerances meeting the Customer’s specifications.
Based in Enfield, CT, Phoenix employs approximately 90 personnel. The Company’s key services include machine processing, CAD, CAM, CMM and development TPO to manufacture highly engineered mechanical actuation and safety components for fixed and rotary wing commercial and military aircraft.
Phoenix Manufacturing has immediate openings for highly experienced CNC Lathe Machinists. The machinist will work with newer CNC Slant machines, but will also be required to occasionally support VTL and Mill/Turn machines. All equipment is brand new and state-of-the-art. Our requirement is that this candidate gets it, wants it, and can do it!
CNC Lathe Machinist Responsibilities:
· Ability to set up, troubleshoot, and operate CNC Lathe Machines. VTL and Mill/Turn experience a plus.
· Inspect work completed on CNC Lathe Machines for conformance to specifications using bench gauging
· Strictly follow Standard Work in all aspects of work including CNC Lathe Machine setup and operation, process verification, product inspection, documentation, and material handling.
· Perform light preventative maintenance tasks on CNC Lathe Machines to maintain machinery performance and prevent machine downtime
· Work as a winning team player in a fast-paced environment
· Perform other duties as assigned.
· Facilitate a highly collaborative team environment.
· Develop collaborative and formal partnerships with Manufacturing Engineering and Quality.
· Promote Phoenix Core Values of determination, passion, empathy and integrity.
CNC Lathe Machinist Qualifications
· 5-plus years of Manufacturing and Quality Control experience in Aerospace or other complex manufacturing industry with exacting/demanding requirements.
· Understanding and ability to use ERP systems.
· Crystal clarity of GD&T and blueprint reading.
· Unrelenting machining problem identification and mistake-proof resolution skills.
· Experience with quality management systems (QMS) compliant with AS9100D.
· Experience with tooling prove-out first piece for NPI (New Product Introduction).
· Excellent verbal communication skills.
· Ability to build strong positive relationships with internal stakeholders and peers.
· Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing experience a plus.
· Skill to overcome challenges and achieve results.
· Keen job focus, but a sense of humor.
