CNC Programmer

Summary
The CNC programmer creates CNC programs, set up instruction, and updates existing programs/set-up instruction. Will support setup procedures used to produce product on available machines and controllers, maintains library of CNC programs to latest revision. Also responsible for part evaluation and program development accounting for optimal machine and personal usage while maintaining engineering tolerance specifications. May also perform as working leader of the group and be able to work closely with Machinist, Planning, Engineering, Management, and other team members.

Primary Responsibilities
Essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to:
  • Planning all operations with proper cutting tool selections.
  • Ability to program 3 to 5 axis machines using MasterCam 2018 or newer.
  • Knowledge of Multi Axis equipment.
  • Create detail set-up sheets with tool list.
  • Tests, modifies and enhances procedures for continuous improvements.
  • Maintains and preserves CAD/CAM libraries.
  • Maintains and utilizes CAD/CAM software.
  • Modify existing programs for engineering change, improvement, and to other machines.
  • Analyze blueprints, models, or sample part to determine sequence of operations and set up requirements.
  • Supports prove out process with Machinist and inspection to meet conformance.
  • Use of Renishaw probing cycles in CNC program.
  • Able to Design Fixtures if needed.
  • Willing to share knowledge and techniques with Machinist and others.
  • Confers with engineers, production personnel, management, or others to resolve machining problems.
  • Continuous help to improve new and existing processes.
  • Maintain the highest ethical standards, even when challenged from above.
  • Understand and live by Mason’s ethics and business conduct policies.
  • Able to complete task on time.
  • Able to work overtime as needed to meet customer demands.
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
  • High School or GED
  • 5+ year’s minimum of programming multi-axis machines.
  • Experience programming with Mastercam 2018 or newer.
  • Experience with Haas multi axis machines.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem solving skills.
  • Good understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
  • Use of SolidWorks and Cimco editor is a plus.
  • Must have knowledge of CNC G-codes and M-codes.
  • Knowledge of Renishaw probing use.
  • Experience with working with castings is a plus.
  • Good Machining practice and knowledge of speeds and feeds.
Pay Compensation Range for this Full-Time position: $29.00- $49.00
