If you have read my JD's before, you will remember that I like to add some humor to these things (life is too short to not laugh once in a while). If you are new to my JD's, if you see something in here that makes you chuckle...that was the intent. So, no bots...no AI, just an actual person.

Allow me to introduce myself a bit. My name is Tom Welke. I am Partner & VP at RSM Solutions Inc and I have been recruiting technical talent for over 21 years and been in the tech space since the .com days of the late 1990s. So, as with all the roles I work on, I am going to be far more focused on 'fit' than anything else...a fit for you and a fit for the client.

As with almost all the roles I work on, that 'social fit' is almost as important as the 'technical fit'. This role is no different. So, you might ask what are some of those 'social fit' pieces to this role? Well, I am glad you asked. Here are some of them:

• Have you ever been in an environment where you get the feeling that there is always that person that has an agenda? They kind of cause the 'Sunday Scaries'. Well, you won't find that here. People actually get along together here and enjoy sharing their knowledge.
• This is not a highly dramatic environment. If you believe the entire world revolves around you, I am going to suggest you run for Congress...better yet, President. I hear there is a race going on.

This role is being done in a hybrid manner (3 days onsite and 2 days remote). We will need individuals that reside within driving distance to the following locations:

• Baton Rouge, Louisiana
• Des Moines, Iowa
• Rosemount, Illinois
• Cedar Rapids, Iowa - this is this client's first choice in terms of location of the candidate selected for this role.

This role is for a highly skilled Azure Engineer with lots of experience designing Azure environments and resources, creating those nifty templates to deploy those Azure resources, creating those Azure private endpoints, as well as creating & maintaining those PowerShell (or other scripting) scripts.

Here are some of the nifty things you will be working on (I am not a huge fan of a laundry list of 1,000 things that someone will be doing. I am willing to bet your eyes kind of bug out and perhaps you even chuckle a bit at the laundry list job descriptions...so, I will narrow these down into the main responsibilities for this role):

• Azure Monitoring & logging.
• Windows State Configuration Management.
• Azure Networking, Storage, AD, Identity Management, App Services & Backup.
• Azure Compliance & policy management.
• IaaC and scripting. Including fun stuff like Teraform & Bicep, ARM Templates, and source code management tools.

Here are some of the main requirements (I am going to be far more focused on breath & depth of experience than I will be in years of experience. Realistically, we are seeking 4 or more years of experience, however):

• PowerShell DSC experience. It would be great to see Ansible, Chef or Puppet experience.
• Experience with Azure backup & Azure Site Recovery.
• Experience with consuming various amounts of Pizza (thought I would add a chuckle).
• ARM templates.
• Experience with AD and Identity Management including nifty stuff like Azure AD, Conditional Access, Privileged Identity Management, Enterprise Apps, Modern Auth Methods & Graph API.
• A great thing to see would be experience with deploying IaC code via a pipeline, as opposed to using the command line on a local workstation.
• Teraform or BICEP (BICEP is going to be preferred), and YAML experience.
• Experience with Private Link Services and Endpoint Services.
• Experience with Azure Storage with fun stuff like management & security of Azure Databases, Storage Accounts and Data Analytics Solutions.
• Conceptual experience with observability platforms.
• Experience with Azure App Services like Web Apps, Function Apps, App Service Environments, App Service Plans, Key Vaults, Storage Accounts and Security Products.
• Experience with the following parts of Azure Monitor: Log & Metric Analytics; App Insights & Containers; Logic Apps; Alerts & Autoscaling.
• Experience with understanding the data source ingestion process.
