Job Description
General Summary:
The Cloud Engineer develops and maintains functional and secure solutions, working directly with our clients. To be successful, the Cloud Engineer should have excellent problem-solving and communication skills and expert level knowledge of the applicable area of expertise. The Cloud Engineer must be passionate about our client’s success. The Cloud Engineer is expected to be fluent in cutting-edge technology solutions that may benefit our clients.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Mentor junior team members
  • Drive Cloud deployment standardization using preferred frameworks
  • Stay fluent in cutting edge Cloud products and services
  • Maintain complete technical documentation
  • Review and recommend new products and technologies to ZAG that may improve client IT system performance and reliability
  • Work with Cloud Engineers/System Engineers to design and deploy Cloud solutions
  • Communicate openly with team members to meet team goals and improve processes and practices
  • Resolve escalated Cloud performance/access/security issues
  • Work closely with ZAG Project Managers to ensure that projects are on budget and on schedule
  • Provide guidance and insight to clients in the area of Cloud technologies
  • Work productively as a team member and engage junior staff in projects
  • Cloud Engineers are on-call for our clients unless a planned vacation or PTO time has been communicated with their manager
  • Completed Cloud SaaS, IaaS and PaaS projects
  • Be an evangelist for Cloud adoption to our clients
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to multi-task and adapt to changes quickly
  • Professional certification (e.g. MS Azure Administrator/Architect, AWS Solutions Architect, Google Cloud Engineer/Architect)
  • Available to work during Eastern Time hours
  • Solid background in Cloud administration, architecture, deployment, and maintenance
  • Expert level understanding of TCP/IP (v4 and v6)
  • Minimum 3 years Expert level Experience with Cloud services (AWS, Azure)
  • Excellent communications skills and the ability to explain, persuade and communicate at all levels of the organization
  • Deep understanding of access control models and network security
  • Professional and positive attitude
  • Experience with network diagnostic, monitoring and analysis tools (e.g. WireShark)
  • Organizational and mentoring skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Sharp troubleshooting skills
  • Knowledge of coding languages for scripting (e.g Python, Perl)
  • Minimum 5 years industry-related experience as a Cloud Engineer, Senior Network Engineer or equivalent
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
