Cerberus Business Finance (“CBF”) is a leading agent, direct lender, and originator of senior secured loans for large U.S. middle-market companies. With over $24 billion of investment capacity, including more than $18 billion of assets under management, CBF primarily provides financing solutions to private equity-sponsored companies in a wide variety of industries. Since its founding in 1995, CBF has completed loan transactions with over 1,000 borrowers and more than 265 private equity-sponsored clients, with the majority on a repeat basis.
Our Cerberus Business Finance team is seeking an Analyst/Associate to join our fund finance group where you will play a crucial role in managing our direct lending/private credit platform.
:
- Produce various internal and external ad-hoc reporting for senior management.
- Participate in the upload/delivery of borrower financial statements, compliance certs, credit memos, etc. to our bank lenders.
- Interface with various internal groups including but not limited to treasury, operations, accounting, financial reporting, legal, and loan credit officers.
- Lead the CLO warehouse launch, daily deliverables, closing warehouse into a CLO and its ongoing life cycle from the Middle Office Operations perspective.
- Reconcile internal data with third party trustees, custodians and prime brokers and ensure accuracy of monthly investor reporting.
- Monitor the reconciliation of cash flows and positions for each SPV.
- Take ownership of existing internal projects focused on process improvements and identify potential new projects.
- Participate in ramping private credit CLOs, CLO Warehouses, and Asset-Backed Bank Debt facilities, along with negotiating legal documents such as Credit Agreements, Indentures, and Loan and Servicing Agreements.
- Project cash flows to ensure upcoming funding obligations are met; suggest capital. calls/distributions when needed, while ensuring debt is utilized subject to the leverage profiles of each fund.
- Coordinate responses to investors meetings and due diligence questionnaires.
- Create process flows for current processes, to identify potential synergies and improve efficiencies.
- Work with external Auditors to ensure the required AUP procedures and reports are completed as required per underlying SPV documentation.
- Model CLO and leverage facilities utilizing Microsoft Excel.
- Project and reconcile monthly/quarterly waterfall payment calculations with trustees.
- Proactively monitor CLO, warehouses and borrowing base facilities by running hypothetical scenarios and communicate the results of such analyses in a clear and concise manner to senior management.
Required:
- Comfortable with taking full ownership of the various responsibilities with minimal oversight.
- Minimum Required Education: Bachelors in Business/Finance/Mathematics.
- Comfort with reading and interpreting CLO Indentures and Credit Agreements for other Leveraged borrowing facilities.
- Strong technical skills, including Advanced Microsoft Excel, Word and Powerpoint. Experience with VBA, Python and SQL is a plus.
- Experience with Wall Street Office, Intex and BlackMountain Systems preferred
- Experience with finding ways to improve processes to make them less manual and more efficient.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- 3-5 years of professional experience in Structured Finance, CLOs or Leveraged Loans.
Desired:
- Experience with Wall Street Office, Black Mountain Systems, Intex, Visio, Excel, Bloomberg and PowerBi.
- Experience with SQL, VBA, Python or other programing languages highly desirable.
- Experience with bank loans (ideally middle market).
The base salary for this position is expected to be between $110,000.00 and $130,000.00. The base salary offered to the chosen candidate will be commensurate with a candidate’s relevant experience and other qualifications for the position, as determined by the Company in its sole discretion. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, which is often a meaningful portion of the compensation package, and a robust benefits package
