Roles & Responsibilities:

Primary Purpose:
The Mount Sinai Adolescent Health Center (“MSAHC” or the “Center”) works to break down racial, social and economic barriers to health care and wellness for young people by providing vital services - high quality, comprehensive, integrated and confidential - for all who come to the Center or School Based health facilities, at no cost to them. The MSAHC advances adolescent and young adult health as a national imperative by serving as a leading center of clinical care, specialized training, innovative research and advocacy.
The Compliance Manager is responsible for the ongoing support and success of the quality improvement platform of the Mount Sinai Adolescent Health Center (MSAHC), as well as compliance with all grants and funder requirements. The Compliance Manager will work in collaboration with the Medical Director to implement the standards and infrastructure for monitoring and improving quality across clinical and operational services and processes. This professional will be charged with ensuring that the above functions are developed, managed and delivered within a culture that is youth-centric, high quality, integrated and collaborative as well as in accordance with Mount Sinai’s policies and procedures, government regulations and guidelines, and funder expectations.
Illustrative Job Responsibilities:
A. Quality Improvement
· Understand, document, and monitor the clinical work processes that support and optimize quality and performance aligned with Center goals;
· Implement systems and reporting to track the key clinical data needed to note quality issues, improvement opportunities, prioritization and decision making;
· Perform spot checks on key elements of audited functions to ensure refinement or remediation in advance of formal audits
· Provide direction and guidance to clinical personnel based on results of tracking;
· Report on clinical outcomes measurement, reporting and improvement and when sub-par create and implement Quality Improvement projects;
· Work in collaboration with Mount Sinai Department of Quality Management to develop and incorporate proactive risk reduction processes into clinical quality.
B. Accreditation
· Responsible for maintaining the accreditation, regulatory and licensing standards related to the delivery of safe and effective patient care including but not limited to Article 31, Article 28 and Substance Abuse Prevention and Treatment;
· Provide oversight of all government regulatory and accreditation visits/audits including but not limited to Joint Commission, NYSDOH, and OMH:
o Ensure appropriate staff and managers are involved;
o Develop and monitor compliance with action plans designed to address statements deficiencies and as a result of root cause.
C. Grant Management
· Responsible for on-going surveillance of grant availability and assessment of eligibility;
· Provide oversight and assistance to grant writer(s) ensuring that all grants are written and reported on in a timely manner, and in full compliance.
D. Environment of Care (“EOC”)
· Ensure EOC plans are in place, and complied with – including safety management, security, hazardous materials, fire/life safety, medical equipment and utility management - thereby providing a safe, functional & effective environment for patients, staff members, and others.
E. Patient Care
· In the event of “patient overflow” or a shortage of staff, direct patient care flow thereby ensuring that all youth are served.
Minimum Requirements:
Education: Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN), with a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)
Experience:
· Commitment to MSAHC’s mission, vision and approach in order to ensure a patient-centric culture which is collaborative and multidisciplinary;
· A passion for working with young people and a work ethic in which a commitment to understanding and solving the needs of each patient is a priority;
· A proactive, hands-on thinker whose priority is to be a thought partner to the MSAHC Medical Director;
· Minimum of 3 years of experience in Quality Improvement and compliance, with demonstrated knowledge of program management;

Requirements:

Education:
1) Licensure: New York State License with current registration as a registered professional nurse.
2) Education: Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing is required.
Master’s in Nursing or health related field is required
Certification in specialty area preferred.

Compensation

The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $115,494.00 - $173,241.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
