Job Description
We Are Hiring:
  • Department: Spiritual Care
  • Schedule: 20 hours per week, Monday - Friday
  • Location: Fully Remote
What You Will Do:
As a Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) Supervisor, you will develop and conduct CPE programs and supervise CPE students/participants. Other responsibilities include:
  • Develop best practice didactics and update them to incorporate newest competencies and impact metrics.
  • The program is in a fully remote environment and requires experience serving as an educator in a virtual environment.
  • Maintain all CPE-related records, reports, policies, standards, procedures, educational and library resources.
  • Ability to function within a large and complex healthcare system.
  • Supervise all activities related to clinical pastoral students, including recruiting, screening, orienting, scheduling, mentoring, evaluating, and providing continuing education initiatives.
  • Develop and conduct Level I and Level II Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) programs in accordance with the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE) standards and the hospital's mission, philosophy and goals.
  • Required engagement with the Ascension CPE community as well as ACPE communities of practice.
What You Will Need:
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
  • Chaplain specializing in Cert of Endorsement preferred.
  • Chaplain preferred
Education:
  • Master's degree in Divinity, Theology, Pastoral Studies or related field is required.
Work Experience:
  • 1 year of experience required.
Additional Preferences:
  • Experience within a National healthcare system strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with Catholic healthcare and Catholic social principles
  • Min of 3+ years experience as a CPE educator required
  • Certified Clinical Pastoral Educator required
  • Experience providing education within a virtual environment required
