Job Description
Our mission at Curai is to make high-quality healthcare accessible to all. We are fulfilling this audacious mission by building a scalable virtual-first primary care service that provides patients with high-quality care anytime, anywhere, from any device, at a very affordable price, by blending high-touch clinical care and artificial intelligence.

Our company is remote-first and we consider candidates across the United States.

Clinical Innovation at Curai
The Curai Clinical Innovation team focuses on developing scalable and generalizable solutions that improve the quality of care we provide. To succeed, our focus is technological innovations and cross-functional collaborations with multiple Curai teams to create the most innovative insights.

Who You Are
None of these individually are hard requirements but they do describe the type of folks that we think would be most effective and happy at Curai. As a member of the Clinical Innovation team, you…
  • Value breadth of knowledge as much as specialization.
  • Have worked remotely before, or have a strong feeling that you'd work well with a 100% remote team, spread across multiple time zones.
  • Are passionate about providing empathetic personalized patient care at the scale
  • Understand what a startup is and that 1 year here is like 3-4 years in a big company; You will get to work and launch lots of projects, and you have a learning mindset to tackle new challenges.
  • Are excited about getting on the speeding train that is an early-stage startup.
  • Love tackling complex problems that span multiple systems.
  • Are excited to try things out to validate new features, and move on if they no longer solve a problem.
  • Enjoy thinking through and working with others on trade-offs, with an understanding of near-term needs and Curai’s long-term strategy.
  • Have informed opinions that you hold lightly.

What You'll Do
A day in the life at Curai is spent focusing on how to:
  • Develop a medical data infrastructure that supports interoperability, machine learning, data science, and clinical care.
  • Translate best practices in the delivery of healthcare to clinical logic.
  • Work on bleeding edge technology and its implementation into clinical workflows.
  • Continuously measure and learn from clinical data.
  • Understand and improve the entire platform in working towards the Quadruple Aim.
  • Collaborate with the Machine Learning, Product, Engineering, and the Clinical provider team to ensure continued progress towards company goals.
  • Conduct clinical and healthcare technology research.

What You'll Need
We recognize not everyone will have all of these requirements. If you meet most of the criteria below and you’re excited about the opportunity and willing to learn, we’d love to hear from you. You should have/be:
  • Demonstrated passion and experience in clinical decision support and health care delivery innovation.
  • Have experience and excitement in working on and evaluating machine learning models.
  • Demonstrated experience in healthcare technology, clinical, or implementation science research.
  • Excellent collaboration and communications skills using all available modalities that can be effective at all levels across the organization.
  • Demonstrated experience working with standards for healthcare data, terminologies such as FHIR, HL7, SNOMED CT, ICD10, LOINC, RxNorm, CPT.
  • Medical degree with excellent clinical acumen and 3+ years of clinical experience after residency in Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, or Family Medicine
  • Excited by the possibilities of technology such as large language models and RLHF.
  • A proven self-starter, get things done attitude with the ability to work independently and nimbly across multiple projects and balancing competing priorities and humility to ask for help.
  • Masters, PhD, or fellowship training in medical informatics or a related-field.
  • Experience in software development and implementation.
  • A learning and sharing mindset with colleagues. Adaptable to a startup environment and understand that there is no work that is not worthy of your position.
  • Unafraid of honest communication, both in giving and receiving feedback with an eye towards self-improvement and improving the company as a whole.

The annual base salary range for this position is between $200,000 and $250,000. Stock grants also play a key part in any offer, they increase your overall compensation package significantly based on company success. Please note that the base salary range is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies, and work location.
