The Clinical Lead is responsible for supporting the clinical leadership and oversight of Kooth Behavioral Health Services. Accountable for the day-to-day running of core clinical governance activities, including audit, policy development, quality improvement, supervision, and support; also contributing as a lead expert clinician to the safeguarding and training functions, working in close collaboration with senior staff in the service delivery function to ensure that services are effective and safe.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
Management & Leadership
- Provides supportive challenges as needed and demands high standards in line with business expectations.
- Supports the recruitment and retention processes for the clinical team to ensure a high-caliber team with high levels of engagement, as well as leading on aspects of recruitment as appropriate.
- Contributes to leadership forums across clinical and service operations functions, taking designated responsibility for leading relevant meetings.
- Leads a team of Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSW) to ensure that relevant strategic objectives are delivered within the broader clinical teams.
- Supports the VP in leading the clinical governance for the Kooth Clinical Operations function across North America.
- Work closely with senior staff in the service operations function to ensure that day-to-day management decisions are co-produced with quality and service optimization in mind.
Analytics, Reporting & Insights
- Acts as a key contact between clinical and service delivery in explaining data trends and encouraging data ownership to enable meaningful improvements.
- Works closely with the central Research and Insights Team to develop fit-for-purpose dashboards capturing relevant activity using this data to make recommendations for quality improvements.
- Analyzes data within designated areas of responsibility, makes recommendations for change, and leads on implementing change programs.
- Prepares reports and shares insights with other senior leaders within the function and, when requested, with the executive leadership team.
Stakeholder Management
- Engages with key teams across the organization to build alignment and momentum in the execution of our clinical strategy.
- Develops and maintains relationships with external organizations, including mental health providers, other healthcare facilities, and referrals.
- Supports the VP and Clinical Directors in representing the company at industry conferences and meetings, building relationships with key stakeholders, and using clinical expertise and experience to advance the company’s reputation in the behavioral health field.
- Supports the VP in translating customer needs into deliverable plans to ensure safe and effective youth behavioral health support.
- Works closely with the research and insights team and UK clinical equivalents to ensure that clinical outcome reporting is suitable.
Behavioral Health
- Leads on the collection of health and regulatory updates that could impact the delivery of evidence-based practices within Kooth and ensures any deviations or risks are escalated appropriately and promptly.
- Gives expert clinical advice and support regarding complex cases and assists with clinical formulation as required.
- Addresses and monitors corrective action plans of Pennsylvania clinical staff.
- Ensures clinical staff are working within the guidelines of their clinical license.
- Leads the supervision program for Practitioners.
- Contributes to providing governance for relevant teams outside of service delivery with a behavioral health element, including product and content, either in a lead capacity or supporting subject matter experts within the training and safeguarding functions.
- Provides expert opinions regarding behavioral health to other teams across the organization, including contributing to discussions and decisions regarding product development and content strategy.
- Leads on clinical audits in both a proactive and responsive manner and in line with the clinical i-RESPOND model.
Safeguarding
- Supports the safeguarding team in embedding processes within service delivery, including risk management, risk reporting, and risk prevention.
- Supports the on-call function, ensuring Practitioners have access to expert advice and support outside regular working hours.
- Ensures that the Quality Assurance framework considers safeguarding risks and mitigations, which are reviewed and updated regularly.
Training
- Contributes to the training program with an area of expertise both for induction and ongoing professional development purposes, including a lead capacity for specific locations as agreed.
- Ensures that the training for Practitioners, including the Kooth i-RESPOND clinical framework, is fully embedded in practice and recommends additional/refresher training as required.
- Contributes to delivering any external training within the scope of expertise to help strengthen the Kooth brand and reputation.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Master's Degree or higher in Psychology, Social Work, Medicine, Mental Health, Counsling, or a related field.
- Experience with leading clinicians in a clinical setting (digital experience preferred).
- Significant experience in clinical practices with children and young people within one or more therapeutic modalities.
- Previous management and leadership experience of clinicians providing support to youth and young adults (digital experience preferred)
- Unrestricted clinical license in degree discipline (LCSW, LPC, etc.) required.
Travel Requirements: This role is remote but will require some travel to California and London.
Compensation: $80,000-$90,000 based on experience.
