Job Description
The YPLP Clinical Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing, coordinating, and managing the clinical practice of the Young Parent Living Programs. The Clinical Coordinator may act as a liaison between the agency and external entities involved in the specific service area. The Clinical Coordinator will be responsible for understanding the clinical specialty area and will ensure that services are delivered in compliance with best practice standards, contracting and regulatory entities’ performance specifications, agency policies, procedures and regulations. If appropriate, the Clinical Coordinator will ensure that program staff provide high-quality clinical care in keeping with best practices and that program staff attend to risk issues, documentation of care, timeliness of documentation, professionalism, productivity, and administrative issues related to providing clinical care. The Clinical Coordinator will also provide direct services to clients at an established productivity proportionate to other responsibilities.


  • Proof of a valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and reliable personal transportation to fulfill essential job functions is required.
  • Demonstrated strong ability to exercise discretion, confidentiality, collaboration, and independent judgment.
  • Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills, organization skills, timeliness, reliability, problem-solving, and ability to work collaboratively and effectively with others.
  • May act as a liaison between the agency and external entities involved the specific service area.
  • Provide direct services and clinical assessments for clients at an established productivity proportionate to other responsibilities.
  • Privately owned vehicle has current and valid state registration and safety inspection sticker, is safe, and is ensured according to the minimum state requirements (pertaining to bodily injury and liability).
  • Responsible for understanding the clinical specialty area and will ensure that services are delivered in compliance with best practice standards, contracting and regulatory entities’ performance specifications, agency policies, procedures and regulations.
  • Knowledgeable of program specifications (BSAS, CBHI, DCF, DPH, DYS, and EEC), regulatory requirements, licensing requirements, credentialing requirements, HIPAA, and other laws and regulations related to clinical care.
  • Ability to ensure that clinical care meets medical necessity and that service delivery meets all compliance standards.
  • Demonstrated strong knowledge of child/youth and family clinical care and support, as well as mental health, educational, child development, child welfare, community outreach, and juvenile justice systems.
  • Responsible for overseeing, coordinating, and managing the clinical practice of the program.
  • If appropriate, the clinical coordinator will ensure (through training and communication) that program staff provide high-quality clinical care in keeping with best practices and that program staff attend to risk issues, documentation of care, timeliness of documentation, professionalism, productivity, and administrative issues related to providing clinical care.
  • Facilitate parenting and psychoeducation groups.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and competency with direct psychotherapeutic clinical care, including risk assessment, safety planning, general comprehensive assessment, treatment planning, service delivery, and discharge/after-care planning.


Provides high quality, developmentally appropriate care and daily curriculum to infants, toddlers, or pre-school students, as assigned at the Children’s Friend Early Learning Center.


  • Minimum of two years of experience in providing direct child care services.
  • Massachusetts EEC certification as infant/toddler and/or preschool lead teacher.
  • Observes and evaluates the care provided to the infants, toddler and/or preschoolers by their parents and assists parents in developing parenting skills and child care techniques.
  • Uses all aspects of Creative Curriculum to help infants, toddlers and/or preschoolers or pre-K students develop and learn.
  • Timeliness and reliability.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or active engagement in working toward the degree.
  • Assists the Director in carrying out daily activities including maintaining the physical environment, ordering and procuring materials and supplies, and laundering.
  • Warm and loving attitude toward children.
  • Ability to read to children.
  • Ability to interact positively with colleagues, parents, and visitors.
  • Apprises the Director of issues/concerns and carries out all activities in keeping with Children’s Friend’s policies, program objectives, and supervisory objectives.
  • Maintains an ongoing educational plan toward a degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field if without such a degree.

  • Completes yearly staff training hours required by EEC and Children's Friend and attends mandatory staff meetings.
