Job Description
We are seeking a Clinical Scheduling Coordinator will monitor all scheduling aspects for the clinic. Will serve as point of contact and troubleshoot for patients, patients' families, referring physicians and third-party carriers with regard to patient related issues. Assume administrative tasks, special projects, and so forth, as requested by team lead or manager. Great attention to detail and excellent communication skills are needed for this role.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
Coordinate all aspects of patient care in Medical Oncology.
Ensure effective interpersonal communication by answering all calls within 3 rings, minimizing caller's time on hold and speaking with everyone in a friendly and helpful tone.
Schedule appointment(s) and/or make referral as appropriate.
Answer telephones and respond to inquiries regarding patients and referrals.
Scheduling and confirming appointments, directing calls to appropriate personnel and identifying possible emergency calls from patients; notify provider or schedule emergency appointment as appropriate.
Schedule patients for laboratory tests, scans, chemotherapy, and procedures when needed.
Resolve any schedule conflicts.
Relay information to patients regarding preparation for laboratory tests, scans, and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or graduation equivalent.
Three years progressively responsible medical office experience.
Additional education may substitute for experience, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience utilizing Johns Hopkins systems.
Two years of the related work experience that includes OR scheduling and/or patient management.

Starting Salary Range: $17.95-$25.30-$32.60 HRLY (Commensurate with experience)

JHU Equivalency Formula: 30 undergraduate degree credits (semester hours) or 18 graduate degree credits may substitute for one year of experience. The pre-employment physical for positions in clinical areas, laboratories, working with research subjects, or involving community contact requires documentation of immune status against Rubella (German measles), Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Varicella (chickenpox), Hepatitis B and documentation of having received the Tdap (Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis) vaccination. This may include documentation of having two (2) MMR vaccines; two (2) Varicella vaccines; or antibody status to these diseases from laboratory testing. Blood tests for immunities to these diseases are ordinarily included in the pre-employment physical exam except for those employees who provide results of blood tests or immunization documentation from their own health care providers. Any vaccinations required for these diseases will be given at no cost in our Occupational Health office.
