The Automotive Technical Claims Adjuster position is the key service contact for customers filing claims on the various vehicle service contracts administered by the company. This position is also responsible for providing complete and sound claim approvals, according to various written contracts, and being able to clearly explain contract terms.

This role is a remote position.
Responsibilities:What will you do in this role?
You will…
- Other duties as assigned.
- Adjudicate claims
- Audit claims for Claims Adjusters’ accuracy and provides recommendations as a result of findings.
- Answer phones, both general, major components and escalated issues (as needed).
- Potentially provide leadership support should the Claims Team Lead not be available.
- Review contract coverage terms and conditions.
- Provide accurate, courteous, and timely information to all external and internal customers concerning claim status and other claim inquiries.
- Provide support to Claims Adjusters.
- Document files to include all key activities regarding estimates, repairs and evaluation summary reflecting and revisions.
- Draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external organizations, groups, team members and individuals.
- Be friendly, courteous, service-oriented, flexible and enjoy working with a variety of staff.
- Add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Remain calm and professional in stressful situations with an unambiguous work direction completing tasks from start to finish with a concern of getting work done on time in a correct manner.
- The ability to hardwire your computer to a router or ethernet jack.
- Working toward ASE Certifications (P2, C1, A1, A2, A3)
- Strong follow-through on delegated tasks and assignments, while leading by example.
- Compute rate, ratio and percentage.
- To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of: Internet Software; Spreadsheet Software (Microsoft Excel); Contract Management Systems; Word Processing Software (Microsoft Word); Electric Mail Software (Microsoft Outlook).
- Must be comfortable in making decisions in area of specialty or expertise.
- Be detailed-oriented and work effectively under pressure while meeting deadlines.
- Recognize problems, identify possible causes and resolve routine problems.
- Dealing with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers with a reserved, factual, formal and sincere communication style, looking to management for direction in areas outside of expertise.
- Internet speed a minimum of 50 MBps download and 10 MBps upload.
- Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Above Average Automotive knowledge for an experienced technician.
- Be proactive in addressing potential problems or holdups in all processes and procedures, while adhering to established guidelines and procedures which require a high degree of information gathering before making decisions.
- Write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents such as contracts, claim procedure guides and coverage pages.
- A minimum of two years related mechanical/hands on experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of automotive education and experience.
- Work independently and productively with minimum supervision; able to manage multiple projects with an extremely high standard for quality and accuracy with a task-orientated focus.
