ABOUT MONTGOMERY COUNTY GREEN BANK We are a publicly chartered 501(c)3 nonprofit corporation dedicated to accelerating energy efficiency, renewable energy, and clean energy investment in Montgomery County. We partner with the private sector to provide more affordable and flexible financing options for clean energy and climate-resilient projects. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER Imagine starting your day by collaborating with the CEO and the Board of Directors, aligning on strategic initiatives, and setting goals. As the COO, you'll oversee the operations and financial management of the organization, ensuring smooth day-to-day functioning. Throughout the day, you'll engage with diverse stakeholders, including government agencies, industry partners, and community organizations, fostering strategic partnerships and driving growth. Your leadership will guide the team to implement impactful programs and initiatives. At Montgomery County Green Bank every day is an opportunity to make a difference. What it takes to be successful in this role: Proven experience in managing impact-driven financial organizations, such as green banks, impact investment firms, or CDFIs Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, forecasting, and risk management Excellent leadership abilities, with a track record of organizational and team management Strategic thinking and the ability to translate vision into actionable plans Outstanding communication and collaboration skills to engage with stakeholders at all levels A passion for environmental sustainability and a commitment to driving positive change
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 5+ years of staff supervisory experience 10+ years of leadership experience in nonprofit management, finance operations, consumer lending or commercial banking, investment and/or fund management, community development, or another relevant field MBA or other advanced degree in a relevant field of study Experience managing 50l(c)(3), grant-making, or financial management institutions and corresponding organizational planning and development is preferred, but not required. Experience in program management, including stakeholder engagement and reporting and/or experience with responsibility for the financial management of an entity or a large program would be a plus.
