Chief Operating Officer at Personal Injury Law Firm


We are seeking a dynamic and experienced COO for our client, a personal injury law firm in Los Angeles, CA. As the COO, you will be responsible for overseeing the firm’s day-to-day operations, driving operational excellence, and implementing strategic initiatives to ensure the firm’s continued growth and success. This is a brand-new role for the firm and there are ten people in office. The ideal candidate will have excellent leadership, organizational, managerial, and communication skills, and a candidate who is bilingual is preferred but not required.


Responsibilities:


• Operational Leadership:


• Provide strategic guidance and leadership to all operational functions

within the law firm, including administration, finance, human resources,

IT, and facilities management.

• Collaborate with the firm’s partners and senior management to

establish operational goals, implement policies and procedures, and

monitor performance to optimize efficiency and productivity.

• Develop and implement effective strategies to streamline processes,

enhance operational effectiveness, and drive continuous improvement.


• Financial Management:


• Oversee financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting activities.

• Monitor financial performance, analyze key metrics, and provide


insights and recommendations to improve profitability and cost-

effectiveness.


• Collaborate with the finance team to ensure accurate financial

reporting, compliance with regulatory requirements, and effective cash

flow managements.


• Human Resources:


• Provide leadership and guidance to the HR department, including talent

acquisition, performance management, employee development, and

retention strategies.

• Foster a positive work culture that promotes teamwork, professional

growth, and employee engagement.

• Oversee compliance with employment laws and regulations, ensuring

fair and equitable practices across the organization.


• Technology and Information Management:


• Evaluate and implement technology solutions to enhance operational

efficiency, including case management systems, document management

systems, and communication tools.

• Ensure the security and integrity of the firm’s data and IT infrastructure,

including cybersecurity measures and disaster recovery plans.


• Strategic Planning and Execution:


• Collaborate with the firm’s partners and senior management to develop

and implement strategic initiatives aligned with the firm’s goals and

objectives.

• Conduct market research and analysis to identify growth opportunities,

emerging trends, and competitive landscape.


• Monitor industry trends and regulatory changes to proactively address

challenges and adapt strategies accordingly.


Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, law, or a related field. MBA or JD is a plus.

• Proven experience (5+ years) in a senior leadership role, preferably as a COO or similar

position within a law firm, specifically in personal injury law or civil litigation.

• Bilingual is preferred but not required.

• Strong understanding of the legal industry, including knowledge of personal injury law practices and procedures.

• Solid financial acumen and experience in financial planning, budgeting, and financial analysis.

• Exceptional organizational and problem-solving abilities.

• Proficiency in technology and familiarity with legal software and systems.


Location: Beverly Hills, CA, fully based in office 5 days a week. Typical office hours are 9am-5pm.


Compensation and Benefits:

• Up to $120K per year DOE
