Job Description
POSITION PURPOSE
The Chief Information Officer (CIO) will drive the systems architecture behind the Credit Union's digital business acceleration and will increase operational efficiency and resilience. Responsible for leading the team to increase engagement and adoption of technology by creating world-class service that inspires and engages members and employees with an eye to upholding our purpose, which is to "Serve Those Who Serve".
The CIO leads the Information Technology (IT) department in the strategy, planning, implementation, and integration of all information systems, and manages key relationships with business partners and internal stakeholders. The CIO balances the need for strategic leadership with the execution and ongoing delivery of focused IT services.
Qualifications
  • Have a proven record of accomplishment in working within an Executive Management Team to set priorities, uphold organizational values while retaining a corporate culture, and creating competitive difference
  • BSc/BA in computer science, engineering, or relevant field; MSc/MA will be preferred.
  • Previous experience in a senior leadership role preferred, or with clear accountability for the operations of information technology with significant P&L responsibility; strong track record of delivering results and creating a positive, high performing culture
  • Minimum of 10 years' management and leadership experience, including at least 5 years in senior management and/or executive roles and simultaneous oversight of IT operations, risk assessments, vendor management and systems integration

Essential Functions

Duties And Responsibilities
  • Migrate the Credit Union to a modern, nimble architecture that serves our members and employees.
  • Ensure appropriate management cadence, operating dashboards, and IT governance to align IT with overall business objectives while operating within agreed upon performance levels.
  • Manage and build positive relationships with vendors / fintech's and identify strategic alliances to meet present and future needs while ensuring maximum benefit for the organization and the ecosystem of members, employees, and community.
  • Support the Credit Union's vision in order to drive impact and value in support of the Credit Union's priorities.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhere to policy, apply sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalate/manage/report control issues with transparency.
  • Performs all duties and completes assigned training assignments in compliance with credit union policies and appropriate regulatory statutes, including BSA regulations and those that correspond with their specific job duties.
  • Responsible for establishing a clear IT vision and technology strategy to lay the groundwork for future innovation and growth; the IT strategy will encompass long-term planning and prioritization and focus on reducing complexity.
  • Perform all responsibilities in accordance with the credit union's Information Security and Risk Protection requirements.
  • Encourage team members to be accountable for delivering results and communicating effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Responsible for the development and the delivery of a data strategy and related critical capabilities to accelerate digital transformation across the enterprise.
  • Ensures that our technology and tools provide value, ease of use, and automation for end users and members. Creates a technology stack that fosters collaboration for all team members.
  • Provide ongoing dialogue, coaching, mentoring and guidance to a team of people managers to reinforce and develop strong people manager capability within the IT organization.
  • Foster and maintain a high-performance environment and culture to value members and each other, work as a team, constantly improve, and uphold accountability.
  • Ensures continuous delivery of IT services through oversight of service levels, monitoring of IT systems performance subject to key performance indicators (KPIs). Defines processes and requires compliance to improve business satisfaction with IT.
  • Demonstrate transparent and collaborative leadership to the technology team to inspire, challenge, and develop a progressive IT organization.
  • Responsible for the delivery of all IT services across the Credit Union, assessing risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the Credit Union's members, employees, reputation and assets.
  • High level of stewardship responsibility to ensure prudent Total-Cost-Of-Ownership / to ensure that each dollar spent drives to operational efficiencies while remembering the overall mission of the Credit Union.
  • Provide for learning and development of a diverse workforce.
  • Accelerate automation with intelligent decision-making.
  • Develop and manage the IT Annual operating budget.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Member of Executive Team, with the purpose of providing leadership, insight, and alignment to the Operations Framework in support of delivering strategic priorities.
