Job Description
Our client, Eriez Manufacturing Co., is headquartered in Erie, Pennsylvania and is a privately-held company which manufactures and markets a wide range of industrial equipment for a number of industrial markets. On behalf of our client, Decision Associates is seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to be a strategic business partner and corporate financial gatekeeper for the organization.
The CFO will be responsible for overseeing the local financial managers, assuring accurate financial reporting, handling treasury and global cash management, intercompany pricing, royalty or management fee processes, tax optimization, compliance, and contract management. Additionally, the CFO will be responsible for challenging other management team members’ strategic initiatives regarding economic and market assumptions and summarizing financially the strategic plan as well as benchmarks needed to obtain approval from the Board of Directors. This position reports to the President & CEO.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Direct all financial, project-based, and corporate accounting activities
  • Manage global treasury to maximize return, manage, and forecast cash flow
  • Oversee and guide long-term budgetary planning and cost management
  • Coordinate external audit activities and maintain relationship with audit firm(s)
  • Partner with President & CEO on operational and strategic issues, providing recommendations based on financial analysis and projections, cost identification and allocation, and variance analysis
  • Prepare and communicate accurate monthly and annual consolidated financial statements
  • Supervise the accurate preparation and approval of all financial reporting materials and metrics
  • Participate in ongoing strategic planning process as a member of the executive team
  • Manage and monitor internal control policies, guidelines, and procedures for financial activities
  • Administer finance and accounting activities in compliance with applicable regulations and guidelines
  • Prepare for and participate in Board of Directors meetings and audit committee meetings
  • Work with IT and other resource teams to implement and update accounting and manufacturing systems at all global locations
Requirements
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%, including global travel
  • Extensive knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS Accounting methods
  • Ability to communicate in other languages is an asset
  • Strong problem solving and creative skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or a related discipline
  • Proven professional integrity and dependability
  • At least 10-15 years’ experience leading the finance function for a global organization
  • Ability and commitment to succession planning and action plans
  • Excellent organizational as well as written and verbal communication skills and experience presenting complex financial information in an easy-to-comprehend manner
  • Manufacturing/cost accounting experience preferred
