Chief Financial Officer - Impact Opportunity

StevenDouglas has been retained on an exceptional and unique CFO search in Austin, Texas. This is an opportunity to be a true advisor to the CEO and have a significant impact on the future direction and growth of the business.

This role is not for the "delegator". This position is "custom built" for the entrepreneurial "heart".

This is a "working" CFO role for a smaller company, running the gamut from production and ownership of the financials to bigger picture forecasting, planning, and budgeting.

Reporting to the CEO and Co-Founder and managing a small team, this role's will responsibilities will include :

• Maximizes return on invested funds by identifying investment opportunities and maintaining relationships with the investment community.
• Evaluate operating results for costs, revenues, budgets, policies of operation, trends, and increased profit possibilities. Attends meetings to provide committee reports on the monthly and year-to-date business finances.
• Performance management including setting goals and expectations, monitoring performance, providing feedback, and implementing corrective action.
• Identify opportunities for expansion into new product areas
• Oversee all accounting functions: general accounting, cash/AR, payroll, tax, accounts payable, fixed asset, internal and external reporting, control compliance, systems automation, and process improvement

"The First 90 Days" :

1. Reducing the month end close time period
2. Pro active suggestions on process improvements, scaling, budgeting, forecasting, building the "trusted advisory" relationship with the CEO
3. Evaluation of staff

Qualifications :

• MUST HAVE HOSPITALITY EXPERIENCE
• Must be willing to travel 1x per quarter
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or business related field
• Must be willing to work a hybrid working schedule : 3 days in office, 2 remote
• Minimum 8-10 years of experience
• Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal
