Job Description

Looking for an ambitious and self-driven Chief Executive Officer (CEO) with a passion to serve the community to join our team! As Chief Executive Officer (CEO), you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations including staff supervision. However, you will also be responsible for the overall strategy and execution of the organization’s vision to serve the community, including ensuring its fiscal health.

The CEO reports to the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors including the President of the BOD. In this position, you’ll have to manage and control all operations and functions, so it is expected that you will be flexible with your availability as some on-site responsibilities may involve being present for evenings and weekends. The CEO will be based at the headquarters in Milpitas.

Candidates who have great people skills, excellent business acumen, are self-driven, and have outstanding work ethics, are ideally suited for this role. The CEO must demonstrate a natural ability to lead, which enables him/her to guide the organization by its mission, ethical practices good governance, and smart financial decision-making. You must be accountable, on behalf of the organization, and should also have innovative skills that allow you to envision the organization’s future while also using your professional background to implement the vision in a meaningful and practical way. Further, the CEO should possess a personable nature and excellent interpersonal communication skills that help him/her to connect with the organization’s staff, Board Members, Donors, and the community at large.

Summary of Roles & Responsibilities

  • Lead employees by example and be a motivator for other employees.
  • Manage the budgeting process and ensure auditing and accounting policies are followed.
  • Establish policies and procedures that promote the organization’s culture and vision.
  • Responsible for financial and business planning, reviewing financial reports, and advising the BOD about overall strategy and financial plans.
  • Design, plan and implement business strategies, plans, and procedures.
  • Take the lead in expansion activities.
  • Set comprehensive goals for employees for the organization’s growth and success.
  • Prepare monthly reports for the Board.
  • Supervise and manage IT/Business infrastructure.
  • Oversee the staffing of the organization, hiring, training, and retention of employees.
  • Supervise the daily maintenance of facilities.
  • Maintain relationships with Board Members, Donors, partners, and vendors.
  • Manage the annual banquet and other special events.
  • Analyze and interpret data and metrics.
  • Monitor internal processes and identify and implement the most efficient methods of running the organization.
  • Lead fundraising activities, jointly with the President of the BOD

Desired Skills and Expertise:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; flexibility; sense of humor
  • Strong commitment to, and passion for, the Mission and Vision.
  • Must be a Bay Area resident and work out of the Milpitas main center
  • 10+ years of work experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience specifically in Management and Finance
  • Cultivating relationships with key stakeholders of the organization
  • Knowledge of Indian culture and the Bay Area community is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently, using good judgment, resourcefulness, and initiative.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize workload and sustain productivity and accuracy under pressure.
