Job Summary


The Charters & Incentive Sale Specialist will have an integral part in organizing and attending the trade show events that Crystal will be showcasing at and working with our marketing department on Charters & Incentive specific branding and collateral. This role will also involve the organization of events for the MICE team as it relates to road shows, FAM sailings, and ship inspections. The ideal candidate has a passion for travel with attention to detail to ensure each event brings the Crystal message of Exceptional at Sea.


Essential Job Duties


As the Charters & Incentive (MICE) Sales Specialist, you will be responsible for the successful event planning and overall execution of all Conference & Events that take place for MICE. This individual will also have understanding and experience in event, digital, and creative marketing. The Sales and Event Specialist will interact frequently with customers and internal teams to learn about their abilities and needs and develop relationships from which to partner with.


Event Management


  • Contracting and designing all sales events globally for MICE
  • Coordinate prompt payments for approved departmental initiatives.
  • Partnering with our Operations Manager on charter branding requests.
  • Develop marketing programs to support the charter and incentive sales channels.
  • Managing social media for Crystal MICE sales channel.
  • Working with partners globally to assist in brand marketing and collateral.
  • Creating digital marketing pieces to be shared with various global sales regions.


Marketing


  • Coordinate prompt payments for approved departmental initiatives.

  • Managing social media for Crystal MICE sales channel.

Sales


  • Follow-up on pending group and charter quotes
  • Assist the sales team in quote preparation for both group and charter.
  • Identify, develop, and maintain relationships with incentive houses, third parties, brokers & direct corporate clients.
  • Set up, manage and escort potential or confirmed clients on ship site inspections.

Work Environment


Works in a typical office environment with quiet-to-moderate noise generated by computer printer, fax machine and light traffic. Travel will be required up to 15% of the time.


Expected Hours of Work


The position is full-time working from Monday – Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Occasional need for Overtime may be required.


Requirements


Experience: 1-3 years of hotel, cruise line, or destination marketing/event management.


Skills/Qualifications:


  • Familiarity with marketing tactics and strategies for global markets.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and/or InDesign.
  • Strong copywriting, editing and proofreading skills.
  • Capable to conduct travel; Proper documentation to travel domestically & internationally.
  • Optimistic – believe the future will be positive and demonstrates a positive attitude in all situations.
  • Must be highly detailed-oriented with strong organizational and follow-up skills.
  • Team player with a positive attitude who works well cross-functionally.
  • Crisis communication experience and ability to operate calmly in high pressure and/or short-deadline situations.
  • Persistent – is tenacious despite encountering setbacks and obstacles.
  • Resourceful, creative self-starter who takes initiative to learn processes and get things done with little supervision.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint programs.
  • Organized – Can place and maintain order in an environment and situation.
  • Knowledge of incentive travel industry, previous experience with luxury cruise line preferred
  • Enthusiastic – Demonstrates passion and enthusiasm and is wager and excited towards own goals.
  • Analytical – logically analyses facts, data, and situations.
  • Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced environment where strategic brand-building efforts are priority – start-up experience a plus.
  • Understanding of Global Events in the MICE Sector.
