Minimum qualifications:
- Experience with development in cellular protocol stack (e.g., control or data plane).
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience with Android RIL, Telephony, C and Embedded RTOS.
- 5 years of experience with 3GPP standards.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience in cellular protocol stack including control plane, data plane, NAS/RRC/SDAP/PDCP/RLC/MAC/PHY, ENDC, NRDC.
- Excellent programming skill in C/C++/Python, with the ability to understand network protocols such as TCP/IP.
- Experience in modem performance analysis and improvement, call performance (e.g., CSFB/VoLTE/EPSFB/VoNR, WiFi calling), data performance, connectivity performance, thermal/power performance.
- Experience in 3GPP (e.g., NR, LTE, WCDMA).
- Experience in satellite communication (e.g., NB NTN, 5G NTN) or wearable devices with cellular connectivity development.
- Ability to learn new technologies and domains, including 3GPP, software development, lab equipment, etc.

As a Cellular Modem Firmware Engineer, you will focus on development, integration, customization and verification of modem features on Android devices, working closely with vendors. You will be the point of contact for all debugging, triaging and fixing modem issues from factory and certification (e.g., GCF/PTCRB/IOT/FIT). You will also be responsible for developing performance optimized connectivity solutions.

Additional Information:
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $118,000-$172,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
