Category Manager Jobs

Our client in the south Chicago are is seeking a Category Manager to help in contributing to building a centralized, best-in-class procurement team. This opportunity will blend category management and strategic sourcing to foster the creation of SME's in each category. This role has a starting salary range of $100K-$120K depending on overall experience and credentials.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute our national category strategy, manage vendor relationships, and monitor category performance.
• Partner with General Managers at the DC level to ensure category strategies are aligned.
• Analyze and monitor category performance and adjust strategies as needed on a national and regional level.
• Negotiate vendor pricing and develop product promotion strategies.
• Directly manage vendor communications and provide performance feedback.
• Directly manage a team of buyers and product specialists related to your category.
• Manage and develop a national strategy to ensure objectives are met.

Qualifications:

• Preference on 5 years or more of category management in the food/bev industry.
• Strong ability to analyze data to develop strategies.
• Preference on Bachelor's Degree in business or related field.
