Job Description
SeatGeek believes live events are powerful experiences that unite humans. With our technological savvy and fan-first attitude we’re simplifying and modernizing the ticketing industry.
By catering to both consumers and enterprises, we’re powering a new, open entertainment ecosystem where fans have effortless access to experiences, and teams, venues, and shows have seamless access to their audiences. Because everyone should expect more from ticketing.
As a Catalog Specialist, you will help maintain and improve the accuracy, timeliness, and completeness of information about events and inventory on our ever-growing SeatGeek platform. You will report to the Catalog Lead and work with multiple people across Marketplace Operations, Customer Experience, Inventory, Marketing and other departments.
You will contribute to both reactive and proactive event work; improve substantial revenue savings and captures; prepare for important on-sales (including league and festival season), save and create substantial amounts of GTV through event accuracy, matching inventory, QA'ing our existing venues / performers, and more.
What You'll Do
  • QA high profile events, and schedule announcements utilizing internal tooling to prevent incorrect listings and sales
  • Respond and investigate customer reported event updates or mismatches where tickets may be incorrect to what was advertised
  • Focus on maintaining information housed within our internal event platform, especially as it relates to the accuracy of performers, venues, and events live on SeatGeek
  • Monitor sites such as Consequence of Sound, or Billboard frequently for tour announcements, cancellations, festivals lineups, postponement alerts, and periphery news that may impact customers and drive revenue
  • Rapidly address urgent event issues relating to details managed within our internal events and inventory matching platform: both reactive and proactive work
  • Collaborate with Customer Experience and Broker teams to handle wide-ranging event updates which may impact buyers and sellers
  • Monitor seasonal trends that may require extra nuance
  • Work in tandem with outbound marketing on new tour announcements, and get the site up to speed on an ASAP basis for marketing to push new promotions
  • Manually match inventory to events as demand requires
  • Other Marketplace / Catalog responsibilities, which may include assisting other teams with offboarded tasks or high profile projects as needed
  • In the case of event cancellations / postponements, all affected dates must be individually assessed for updates, inventory re-matched to new dates, with the possibility of creating internal notes to assist customer experience with any incoming volume as a result of these updates
What You Have
  • Ability to multitask constantly and effectively
  • Thinks quick on feet and not flustered easily
  • Strong analytical and technical skill set
  • Superior communication skills; written and spoken
  • Knowledge of the live event industry, bonus for familiarity with a wide variety of event types and quirks therein
  • Confidence in work, and ability to execute independently
  • The ability to successfully manage a heavy workload with wide-impact
  • Imagination and passion for optimizing workflows and tooling
  • Ability to effectively collaborate both within team, and with other teams
  • Prior experience collaborating with Product and Marketing teams preferred
  • Goal-oriented and action-oriented
  • Superior organizational skills; detail-oriented; follow-through is a strength
Perks
  • Up to 16 weeks of paid family leave
  • $120 a month to spend on tickets to live events
  • Flexible work environment, allowing you to work as many days a week in the office as you’d like or 100% remotely
  • Annual subscriptions to Headspace, Ginger.io, and One Medical
  • Annual subscription to Spotify, Apple Music, or Amazon music
  • A WFH stipend to support your home office setup
  • Health, vision, dental, and life insurance
  • Flexible PTO
  • 401(k) matching program
  • Equity stake
The salary range for this role is $50,000-$80,000. Actual compensation packages within that range are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years and depth of experience, certifications, and specific location.
