Reports To: Obstetrical Unit Director
Status: 80 hours per two week pay period
Shift: 8:00 am – 4:30 pm
Job Schedule: Full time
Weekly Hours: 40 hours

Responsible for delivering a patient service model including assessment, planning, linkage, advocacy, and monitoring. To ensure success, case managers should adhere to the highest standards of ethical and moral conduct, act in the best interest of HRMC and fully support the mission, vision and values of HRMC. Responsible for ensuring that clinical documentation complies with federal laws, training staff in medical recordkeeping practices, and analyzing medical information. To ensure success, clinical documentation specialists should exhibit extensive experience in a similar role and sound knowledge of clinical documentation regulations. A first-class clinical documentation specialist should be a medical professional whose expertise translates into sound medical recordkeeping practices.

- In-depth knowledge of medical terminology, coding, and procedures.
- Proficiency in Electronic Medical Record (EMR) software, such as Cerner.
- Extensive experience in collecting and interpreting medical information, as well as training staff.
- Ability to keep informed of advancements and regulations in clinical documentation.
- A minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role preferred or 3 years acute care experience.
- Licensed as Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of South Dakota.
