Job Description
Summary


The Campus Director develops, assesses, and improves the quality of campus operations and is responsible for providing vision, leadership at the assigned Spartan Campus(es) and for ensuring the delivery of effective and quality service to students. The Campus Director is a strategic leader who is able to think strategically in leveraging non-instructional services to maximize student success. The Campus Director is responsible for the overall management of all interests, and activities, and will assist with the finances for assigned Spartan campus(es). The Campus Director works closely with the Campus President and Executive Leadership and is responsible for designing and implementing programs that foster college growth. The reputation and success of the college is the direct responsibility of the Campus Director.


Essential Functions


  • Evaluates needs, issues, and ensures that actions to rectify those are undertaken in a timely fashion.
  • Achieve campus goals specific to Career Services placement and student satisfaction.
  • Responsible for campus outcomes with an acquired understanding of departmental roles and functions, policies, and procedures.
  • Assures that performance appraisals are conducted on time.
  • Assist the Campus President in preparing and manage the campus budgets
  • Works closely with Spartan corporate partners and human resources to ensure compliance with all Spartan and Spartan policies, related local, state, and federal regulations that pertain to all aspects of campus operations, practices, and activities. Federal Campus Based Aid Award Federal Supplementary Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG) and Loans to future student based on written policy
  • Create and coordinate department publications such as the Course Catalog and the Campus Crime Report with Compliance Officer
  • Works with various departments to ensure timely updating, publishing and distribution of the New Student Technical Orientation, Campus Security Report, Drug Free Schools and Communities information and other student consumer information documents
  • Assistance to Campus President to evaluates staffing levels, divisions of responsibility, and organizational structure
  • Identifies ways campuses and/or departments may assist in meeting accreditation agency accountabilities and solicit support to gain assistance
  • Provides opportunities for and ensure development of team members at assigned campus to build a viable succession strategy at the campus.
  • Assures that all staff under direct reports have established and communicated accountabilities and performance expectations.
  • Put in place systems to ensure that all student files are complete and in compliance throughout the student life cycle.
  • Administer and supervise compliance with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, ADA and institutional student grievance processes and procedures
  • Administer the peer-tutoring program through Federal Work Study. Coordinate services with the faculty, financial aid and the Dean of Academic Affairs and Operations
  • Assure access protocols and services in support of student advising needs are in place and appropriately communicated, this includes maintaining a comprehensive list of referral resources and appropriate intervention mechanisms/programs
  • Establishes and communicates accountabilities and performance expectations for all direct reports.
  • Assistance with creating strategies and programs designed to positively impact student persistence and increase student satisfaction at the school
  • Encourages cross-campus representation as appropriate
  • Participates in Spartan and Spartan system-wide meetings, as directed, to gather information and provide perspective to issues and plans of a corporate nature
  • Serve as the PSI (FAA) Test Center Supervisor and work with the testing proctor to ensure they are adhering to the PSI compliance
  • Promotes a positive image and attitude for college staff toward operating objectives established by Spartan and Spartan College and other departments, including positive attitude toward all company employees
  • Supervise the Career, Student and Testing Service Center employees. Assist in the enhancement of this service to students at the College, and other staff as assigned at campus(es)
  • In partnership with Admissions, plan and coordinate orientation, commencement, and other student recognition ceremonies for the campus
  • Recruits and hires new talent for the campus to ensure a steady stream of qualified replacements exists on each campus.
  • Provide first line contact and problem resolution for parents, students, and others
  • Establishes and evaluates periodic progress reviews to assure results are monitored and corrective action applied to maintain acceptable results
  • Collaborates with the Campus President to create campus’ annual operating plan and report and identifies areas where cross-departmental assistance is necessary or appropriate


Supervisory Responsibilities

Education and Work Experience


  • High School or GED required
  • Master’s Degree required
  • A demonstrated track record of success at the campus level, plus successful and consistent leadership and contribution to corporate efforts are both required.
  • A combination of either 3 years’ previous experience working at an executive level in a proprietary college or university or 10 years’ general industry experience culminating in a general management role.
  • Relevant industrial experience will include some combination of these characteristics: service industry; consumer-based; for-profit; training or technology-related; and/or decentralized operations.
