Camp Coordinator Jobs

YMCA of Southwest Florida is looking for CAMP COORDINATORS! Come spend your summer in sunny Florida building a community, making youth and teens’ dreams come true, creating lifelong friendships, and learning and developing leadership skills that will help in any career.

Essential Functions:

• Develops and fosters interpersonal relationships between participants, staff, and caregiver families; is pro-active creating a positive, welcoming environment of cooperation, friendliness, and helpfulness towards staff and customers.
• Directly supervises other program staff (Counselors, Jr Counselors) and volunteers in the performance of their duties by providing guidance, leadership, and support.
• Other job-related duties as assigned may be necessary to carry out the responsibilities of this position.
• Plans supervises and executes an environment of customer service excellence.
• Responsible for maintaining and responding to all required daily reports.
• Responsible for maintaining and enforcing all cleanliness standards throughout the day as well as proper safe food handling procedures (particularly with regard to food allergies)
• Organizing, planning, supervising, and executing high quality childcare programming that reflects a positive image of the YMCA and its services to the community.
• Responsible for the physical safety of participants and staff at all times

Qualifications:

• Successfully complete DCF Criminal History Background Check requirements as well as meet the Association’s policies on background screening.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Able to adhere to drug/alcohol/smoke free workplace policy.
• Prior experience working with children.

Certifications and Trainings:

• Annual completion of YMCA’s Child Abuse and Neglect training
• 30 hours of YMCA Day Camp Curriculum, Policy, and Procedure training
• 8 hours of YMCA of Southwest Florida Association Day Camp training
• Annual completion of YMCA’s Blood Borne Pathogens training
• CPR and First Aid Certifications required
