Procurement Specialist

A Day in the Life of the Procurement Specialist
As a Procurement Specialist, you will be one of the supplier’s main points of contact and will answer any questions or address concerns the supplier has. Vendor follow-up and relationships will be important for this role. This position also will coordinate closely with the inside new sales project manager assigned to the project to ensure all project timelines for equipment coordination and delivery are being met at all times.
Responsibilities
- Stay up to date on new or existing vendors who may be having supplier issues or delivery inconsistency and report to the manager regularly
- Manage deliveries and expectations with vendors to align to the project management timeline
- Maintain business supply needs and ensure the business is getting the best possible material per order specification
- Follow up on all deliveries with the vendor is a critical
- Manage inventory and order supplies and materials as needed
- Follow up and manage delivery timeline with vendor of equipment or services that meet the quantity and quality expectations of the organization per project schedule
- Report out on daily and weekly delivery changes, immediate delays should be reported on
- Resolve pricing conflicts and place bids with different vendors as required, continue to review pricing consistencies within contracts
Skills and Knowledge
- Bachelor’s Degree in business, supply chain management or business analytics
- Proficient with Microsoft Office programs; MS word, Excel, PowerPoint
- 6 months of procurement or project management experience desired
- Must be available to work occasional nights, holidays, and weekends
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to manage complex projects and multi-task
- Ability to remain professional and courteous with customers at all time
- Minimum age requirement 18+
