Job Description
THE POSITION


The City of Ventura Information Technology Department is looking for a dynamic supervisor to join the team. This Business Systems Supervisor will lead the development, design and delivery of cross-functional multi-platform application systems.


What You'll Do


Reporting to the Assistant Chief Technology Officer, the Business Systems Supervisor provides technical and process leadership while partnering with the client-facing IT team and IT customers to drive the tactical delivery of application solutions. The Business Systems Supervisor is responsible for the integration and support of a variety of technical systems throughout the City. The position also trains and evaluates the performance of assigned staff.

THE SCHEDULE


This recruitment will follow the below timeline.


  • Week of July 17, 2023 - Oral Panel Interview are tentatively scheduled for this date. Qualifying candidates will be notified by email if they are invited to the panel interview process.
  • Week of July 24, 2023 - Department Selection Interviews are tentatively scheduled for this date. Qualifying candidates will be notified by email if they are invited to the panel interview process.
  • Monday, July 10, 2023, 5:30 pm - Application Deadline. Applications must be submitted by this date to be considered for the position.
  • July 31, 2023 - Candidates will be notified of the outcome of the interview by this date.
  • July 12, 2023 - Candidates will be notified by email of their status by this date.

Salary And Benefits


The City offers a total compensation package that includes both a generous salary and other benefits!


  • BENEFITS: Refer to the benefits tab on the job posting for specific information on City benefits.
  • SALARY Update: Effective July 8, 2023 the updated salary range for this position will be $110,302.40- $147,804.80 Annually DOQ.
  • SALARY: $101,928.32 - $136,585.70 Annually DOQ

Position Qualifications


WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO QUALIFY


A combination of training, education and experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree in computer science, management information systems, mathematics, or a related field, and five years of progressive enterprise-level experience in programming and systems analysis, supervising technical resources, inclusive of developers and/or systems analysts; including two years of responsibility and experience at leading projects and supervising staff, is required.


Previous Experience In a Public Agency Is Preferred.


License: Depending on assignment, possession of a valid California Class C driver's license may be required.

Interview Dates And Information


A select number of candidates will be invited to a qualifying panel interview process that is tentatively scheduled for Week of July 17, 2023. Select candidates will be notified of specifics after the filing deadline. Please note, given the current COVID-19 situation, initial panel interviews may be conducted via video teleconference. Selected applicants will be notified of specifics at the appropriate time.


The department selection interviews are tentatively scheduled for Week of July 24, 2023 . Candidates selected to move forward will be notified.
