Haymarket Media, Inc. is seeking a Business Intelligence Developer to join the team. This position is located in our New York, NY office.
Job Overview:
The BI Developer will be responsible for partnering with the analytics, data engineering and business teams to provide guidance on reporting and data analysis needs. They will build queries, reports, dashboards and visualizations. The ideal candidate will have significant experience using Business Intelligence tools, such as Looker (preferred), Power BI, Tableau or Qlikview. Knowledge of Google Analytics and BigQuery is a skill that will facilitate many tasks which are part of this role. They will work to evolve reporting into actionable insights and recommendations for the business.
Responsibilities:
- Work as a strategic partner with Haymarket business units to support new insights, reveal business opportunities and measure performance as part of a data-driven organization.
- Train and educate staff at all levels of skills and expertise on how to best leverage the tools implemented by the Business Intelligence team.
- Build out and improve Haymarket’s existing data model to support reporting, analytics, data governance, data analysis, data quality and metrics in the customer, advertiser and editorial performance areas.
- Translate business requirements into reporting solutions, like dashboards with well-designed data visualizations.
- Manage relationships with internal stakeholders to understand and assess business reporting needs, recommend reporting automation opportunities and improve the decision making process for each business unit.
- Design and implement data exploring tools to be used by the data analytics team to support internal and external reporting.
Skills and Requirements:
- Demonstrated experience with transforming gathered requirements into clear and actionable tasks to implement reporting solutions.
- Top-notch written and verbal skills
- 3+ years of experience in the analytics field. Experience working with the Medical / Healthcare industry is not necessary but is a plus.
- Attention to detail and ability to produce accurate and thorough work
- Knowledge of how ETL/ELT processes work. Experience with one ETL/ELT tool is preferable
- Strong skills in more than one BI tool (such as Looker, Qlikview, Tableau or Power BI)
- 1+ years of hands-on experience with Google Analytics. GAIQ certification is a plus
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Standard SQL implementations. Experience with BigQuery is a big plus.
- BA/BS degree
- Google Tag Manager implementation experience, with knowledge of data layer manipulation.
- Project management skills to be able to keep track of ongoing work, multitask, juggle priorities and tackle urgent requests when needed.
- Willingness and ability to “dive right in”, self-learn, be effective, and make a difference.
- Strong technical troubleshooting skills, perseverance and patience

- The salary range for this position is $95K–$110K. Compensation will be commensurate with experience, skill level, functional and/or industry knowledge, education level, certifications, as well as other qualifications.
