Position Summary
The Business Intelligence (BI) Reporting Analyst will work and be responsible for developing dashboard and reporting solutions, that will require the build out of new data structures and models to achieve performance characteristics and assist in training department staff in the use of data reporting tools. The incumbent will work directly with Gift Officers, and other members of the fundraising team, to review reporting priorities, and streamline delivery of reporting of fundraising data.
The BI Reporting Analyst will require strong interpersonal and analytical skills and a desire to solve user requests and be technically proficient in using Microsoft PowerBI or Tableau, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), SQL, and familiarity with Python or R. Also, the incumbent will conduct analysis into reported errors found in department reports, find, and document the root cause(s), and propose appropriate actions and solutions to mitigate bugs.
Responsibilities
- Other duties as assigned. – 10%
- Create standard and ad-hoc reports based on business requirements using data from various sources, including databases, spreadsheets, and other data repositories, ensuring data integrity and accuracy. Maintain, test, and distribute reports and dashboards for the department, provide user support, training, and documentation. – 60%
- Document the data analysis processes, methodologies, and results for future reference and to facilitate knowledge sharing. - 10%
- Work with Tableau, Power BI, Python in collaboration with the BI team to create visualizations and reports that provide data-driven solutions and insights. – 20%
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience, plus two years of related experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud reporting and analytics, SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS), SQL, Tableau, Power BI, and familiarity with Python.

- Highly self-motivated and directed and adept at working in a team environment.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication, and creative problem-solving skills.
- Have experience in thoroughly documenting business requirements, and objectives, and maintaining project documentation.
- Monitors and optimizes the reporting environment to ensure it operates smoothly without issues automating any manual tasks.
- Have experience in using PowerBI, Tableau, or another similar dashboard application.
- Communicates incidents/problems, reporting changes, enhancements, and modifications to appropriate parties in a timely manner, with strong customer service skills.
- Proven experience with report writing and technical requirements analysis, methodology development, and proficiency with Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), and SQL.
- Builds strong relationships with fellow technology team members, pro-actively sharing relevant information, and improvement ideas to benefit the whole team.
- Have experience managing reporting projects, with first-hand report development, and data manipulation using SQL.
- Proven ability to adjust quickly to shifting priorities, multiple demands, and rapid change.
- The incumbent must demonstrate sound judgment and discretion in handling confidential matters.
