Business Intelligence Analyst Jobs

Summary/Description

As a Business Intelligence Analyst, you will be responsible for supporting the development and maintenance of Power BI dashboards and reports for various business units and stakeholders. The BI Analyst will work under the guidance of the BI manager to gather requirements and assist in the design and implementation of effective reporting solutions.

Responsibilities

• Develop Power BI models and dashboards for business partners at Cinemark, including financial and operational performance metrics, revenue and expense trends, and other key business indicators
• Write basic SQL queries to extract and manipulate data from Cinemark's financial and operational systems, including revenue, business metrics, and staffing data, and use these queries to feed Power BI datasets and other data tools for the FP&A team
• Assist with ad-hoc data analysis and reporting requests as needed
• Identify discrepancies between different data sources and identify the specific reason for those discrepancies to ensure accuracy and integrity of data sources
• As requests come in, collaborate with business partners and members of the FP&A team to implement new solutions and visualizations for existing Power BI reports and datasets
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development to improve technical skills and financial knowledge

Basic Qualifications

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify trends and patterns in complex datasets
• Intermediate proficiency in Excel, including advanced formulas, pivot tables, and other data analysis tools (2+ years of experience)
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, mathematics, or equivalent work experience
• Basic proficiency in SQL, including the ability to write basic queries, filter and sort data, and perform basic aggregations
• Intermediate proficiency in Power BI, including the ability to develop and maintain datasets and reports (1+ year of experience)
• Demonstrated project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with Essbase or Workday
• Master's degree in finance, accounting, economics, mathematics, or equivalent work experience
• Experience with programming languages, such as Python or R, for data analysis and modeling
• Experience in the entertainment or theatrical exhibition industry
• Experience working with large and complex data sets, including the ability to manipulate and clean data using advanced SQL techniques
• Experience with other BI tools such as Alteryx, Tableau, or Qlik
