As a Business Incubation Manager, you will play a key role in exploring and incubating new business ventures in electrification for Caterpillar’s Electrification & Advanced Power Solutions Division (E+APSD).

The Business Incubation Manager is a corporate entrepreneur who has a passion for new business development, strong curiosity about new disruptive technologies, business models, and is comfortable with failing/learning fast. This has a proven record in delivering results, working independently, influencing others both internally and externally.

The Business Incubation Manager leads new business model exploration from 0 to 1 to scale.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to :

• Refines and improves new business model ideas. Uses validated learnings to Persevere or Pivot.
• Research and scout emerging business models.
• Acts as a Founder and lead cross-functional teams in exploring a specific opportunity from idea to launch (0 to 1); including target customer, market sizing, business model development, innovation accounting/early-stage financial modeling, marketing, operations, and go-to-market strategy with the support of an internal/external expert network.
• Applies Lean Startup framework and principles to validate business ideas and accelerate learnings.
• Produces investment materials (presentations and financial models) and learning report outs.
• Leads communications with key stakeholder groups.
• Designs, develops, and leads the execution of shot, iterative experiments (Build-Measure-Learn) to validate customer, solution, and business model assumptions.

Basic Requirements:

• 3-5 years of project management experience; can take early-stage ideas through to scaled operations, based on validated learnings.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Entrepreneurship OR 3-5 years of startup experience, including of corporate startup environment OR 3-5 years of new product/service development in emerging markets, or digital space.
• 3 -5 years’ experience developing financial models for early-stage businesses (innovation accounting), unit metrics, evaluate financials/P&L.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Informal and collaborative, always ready to roll up your sleeves when needed.
• Communication skills; can effectively and succinctly communicate findings and conclusions. A strong storyteller who can simplify the complex and complicated.
• Some familiarity with innovation accounting principles.
• Comfortable working in 100% remote setting.
• Comfortable working in a startup environment within a large corporation.
• Curious about disruptive technologies, companies, business models, people, and ways to create sustainable value.
• Well versed in Lean Startup, Design Thinking and other innovation frameworks and tools to bring new businesses models from 0 to 1 and scale.

Compensation & Benefits:

Base salary for this role ranges from $136,488 to $204,732 . Actual salary will be based on experience.
