Job Description
The Role: Business Effectiveness Specialist
The Location: The ideal candidate will be based near an S&P Global office and report into the office on a hybrid work schedule. (2x/week)

The Scope & Impact
As a member of the People Team, the Business Effectiveness Analyst plays an important role in execution of key priorities and initiatives and shaping of information provided to key stakeholders within the covered divisions and functions. The role reports to the Business Effectiveness and Planning Lead and actively supports the SVP, People for S&P Global Ratings, DTS, Sustainable1, Legal, Government Affairs & Security and Global Risk and Compliance and the associated people partner team.
S&P Global Ratings is a highly regulated business. The Business Effectiveness Analyst supports a number of information requests to meet the required regulatory requirements.
The Responsibilities
Regulatory Support:
  • Liaise with Compliance to identify and provide relevant people data required for internal investigations or regulatory request.
  • Manage and own the S&P Global Ratings Regulatory Reporting processes (i.e., SEC, ESMA, FCA and OSC) reporting. Ensure that all scheduled reporting requirements and ad-hoc requests are met, data is reported accurately, and delivered in a timely manner. Maintain global inventory of S&P Global Ratings People Team regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Maintain organization charts in agreed format with compliance for regulators.
  • Contribute to the Ratings Management Assessment Report by partnering with Ratings Risk Management in the review, assessment, and coordination for People Team controls.
Strategy Planning Support
  • Provide support and insight into significant organizational changes (e.g. shift in priorities, new market expansion, structural changes etc.)
  • Support people focused strategy planning process including but not limited to liaising with divisional strategy teams and ongoing assessment, tracking and reporting of deliverables.
  • Prepare people focused custom presentations and analysis in support of ongoing S&P Global Ratings board presentations and operating committee deliverables.
  • Prepares analysis and materials for strategic/annual planning discussions. Plan and organize meetings, presentations to engage and inform key stakeholders. Develop content, activities, guidance materials, and arrange logistics.
Project Management Support
  • Advise People Partners on the impact to people data and business structure in Workday and necessary actions to implement organizational changes requested by the business. Compile and submit related updates to Workday.
  • Monitors and checks in to assist with the production of required deliverables related to strategic planning, annual planning, and program review. Tracks overall progress on priorities and initiatives. Produces quarterly reports on progress.
  • Analyze data derived from various sources in support of people focused business proposals and projects. This includes retrieving relevant data points, often merging data sets and visualizing data to provide precise answers to specific workforce questions.
  • Partners with people partner team and key stakeholders through a collaborative planning process to develop, analyze, and implement variety of requests and initiatives. (e.g., year-end compensation planning, workforce capacity assessments, people deep dive reviews etc.)
Functional & Business Knowledge
  • Broad understanding of global regulatory reporting processes and related implications with a focus on People Team specific accountabilities
  • Understanding of general human resources principles and practices is preferred
Skills
  • Detail oriented, with the ability to identify anomalies or inconsistencies, detect potential problem, troubleshoot to test thinking, and suggest additional analysis and/or new paradigms for framing new alternative solutions
  • Expert level for MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) including experience with data visualization to support proposals for solutions or next steps
  • Collaborative work style and strong communication skills, with ability to effectively partner with and earn the trust of colleagues at all levels of the organization, including when working on sensitive matters
  • Critical thinker: ability to aggregate data from disparate sources, and leverage and analyze data to derive insights to support decisions
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple projects / competing priorities
  • A self-starter with a keen sense ownership and commitment to the work, and a passion to deliver results
Minimum Education And Experience
5 years’ of work experience with an Undergraduate degree in HR, Finance, Business or related discipline preferred.
Compensation/Benefits Information (This section is only applicable to US candidates):
S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $75,000 to $100,000. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual’s geographical location as well as experience and qualifications for the role. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan.
