As we continue to grow and expand our footprint in the industry, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Business Development/Strategy Lead to join our team and drive our BD and Strategy efforts.


What you’ll do

We are looking for a highly motivated and strategic-minded individual to lead our business development and strategy initiatives. The Business Development/Strategy Lead will play a pivotal role in identifying new customer segment opportunities, building strategic partnerships, operationalizing performance across the organization, and driving growth for Certa. This role requires a combination of business acumen, market analysis, and relationship-building skills.



Responsibilities:

  • Drive the development and monitoring of key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the success of strategic initiatives across the organization
  • Assisting CFO and CEO with capital raising and any potential M&A/strategic finance initiatives
  • Business Development:
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including strategic partnerships, alliances, and collaborations
  • Build and nurture relationships with potential clients, investors, and partners
  • Market Research and Analysis:
  • Ability to create project plans once a customer segment has been decided on how best to rally Marketing, Sales, Product, and Engineering teams towards addressing that market opportunity
  • Analyze market data and customer insights to inform strategic decision-making on what areas to dive deep in
  • Assist with competitive positioning and competitor analysis to make sure Certa stays ahead in the market
  • Work closely with the executive team to define and refine the company's long-term strategic plan
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative culture within the team
  • Monitor industry trends and competitive developments to adapt and adjust the company's strategy as needed
  • Build and manage a high-performing business development team, providing guidance and mentorship
  • Team Leadership:
  • Strategic Planning & Operations:
  • Conduct thorough market research to identify emerging trends, competitive landscapes, and potential customer segment opportunities.
  • Lead negotiations and contract discussions to secure new business deals


Requirements:

  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a results-oriented approach.
  • Leadership experience and the ability to motivate and lead a team.
  • Demonstrated experience in building and maintaining strategic partnerships.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
  • Knowledge of procurement, compliance and/or third-party management is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and market trends.
  • Proven track record of at least 5+ years in fields related to management consulting, investing, investment banking, or business development/strategy
  • Basic financial knowledge and modeling abilities
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business, Economics, or related field
