Nelnet Bank is seeking a Business & Quality Analyst (BQA) who will provide both requirement analysis and confirmation those requirements have been fully developed. Responsibilities will include working with the product lead to translate product requirements into development stories, developing test plans against those requirements, manual testing, reporting and recording of issues, coordinating with developers on testing and testing results, and deployment activities. This individual will work closely with all aspects of the Bank tech team and participate in several weekly meetings such as scoping, planning, and retrospectives.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Maintain a backlog of requirements, and prioritize based on current business and project priorities.
  • Execute all phases and types of testing to include user acceptance testing, end-to-end testing, and regression testing of a release.
  • Review and understand user stories and associated acceptance criteria. Write test scripts based on defined and approved user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Participate in weekly meetings such as scoping, planning, and retrospectives.
  • Proactively identify and communicate risks and opportunities for improvement in the testing process or other processes that cross all products and test frameworks
  • Plan, organize, schedule, and execute business requirements analyses with a variety of stakeholders – documenting results and obtaining approval for completeness and accuracy.
  • Work with product and engineering teams by implementing & enforcing quality gates at each stage of the pipeline.
  • Participate in product design reviews to provide input on functional requirements, dependencies, or potential issues.
  • Plan, organize, and implement day-to-day activities of testing.
  • Work with the Engineering Manager, Architects, and Software Engineers to design solutions that satisfy approved business requirements.
  • Assist with the building of test strategies & methodologies, automation, and site monitoring focused on infrastructure and high availability.
  • Document the testing results and coordinate with engineers and architects as needed. Present UAT findings to product teams for final sign-off.

EDUCATION:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

EXPERIENCE:
  • Experience with test framework and analysis tools used by the team (or similar at another company).
  • 3+ years of experience in business analysis and quality assurance testing
COMPETENCIES – SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES:
  • Strong and demonstrated knowledge of quality assurance methodologies, tools, and processes.
  • High attention to detail and the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks while successfully meeting deadlines.
  • Project Manager or SCRUM certifications are a plus
  • Proven capabilities of working with stakeholders to elicit business requirements using industry-standard techniques, and documenting requirements such that the engineers and architects can act upon them.
  • Experience working in a complex engineering environment with prior experience as a business analyst and/or quality assurance tester.
  • Experience using JIRA or other project management software.
  • The ideal candidate will have exceptionally strong written and verbal communication skills and possess 3+ years of experience in business analysis and quality assurance testing.
  • Automated testing experience is also a plus
