Business Analyst -Contract to Fulltime - Remote - Insurance Industry

$45-48/hr for the contract portion and $85-100k

Sr. Business Analyst -

This position is responsible for serving as the client relationship liaison between a business unit and the IT department; and work with IT service or project teams to collect, clarify and translate business requirements into documentation and conceptual design (using appropriate tools and models) from which technology solutions can be developed.

Job Duties:

• Participate in or direct business process analysis in support of requirements identification
• Define (or redefine) business needs for new and/or enhanced products, services or optimized business processes
• Capture, analyze and document business and user requirements
• Facilitate meetings with IT and business unit management and staff accordingly
• Participate in Business Analysis Center of Excellence activities and adhere to defined best practices
• Partner with test team and assist in the preparation of the testing strategy and testing execution plans to ensure test cases map to requirements
• Provide assistance with how-to requirements in terms of reporting documentation
• Understand the business domain, its processes, systems, data and the inherent linkages among them and execute on project plans by creating deliverables to meet project needs

• Requirements:
• Knowledge of writing test cases and test plans
• Excellent communication skills and adept and effective meeting facilitator
• Experience working with agile methods
• Ability to be flexible and able to deal with frequently changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Explicit insurance knowledge and experience strongly preferred
• Advanced knowledge of and experience with business modeling tools, such as process and workflow modeling
• Three years or more of business analysis experience supporting medium-sized initiatives
• Detail oriented, highly organized and able to manage multiple project tasks concurrently
• Experience eliciting requirements and experienced in collaborative facilitation methods
• Clear and effective writer and documenter with experience writing technical documentation
• University degree/college diploma or equivalent business experience
• Experienced and skilled user of office productivity tools, including advanced knowledge of Microsoft® Word, Excel and PowerPoint
