Business Analyst Role

Reporting to the Product Owner, the Business Analyst develops requirement documentation that translates business needs into solutions to deliver organizational benefit. The Business Analyst will work across multiple medium and large projects, through all phases of the project lifecycle. Applies critical and system thinking as to how components influence one another within a whole system, product, or process. Builds relationship between Business partners and Technology relative to requirements, solutions, and priorities.

Job Functions

Business Analytics

• Drives requirements traceability and future reuse
• Interacts and drives technical teams to translate functional specifications into technology solutions
• Participates in System and User Acceptance Testing for confirmation that define requirements and business solutions have been delivered
• Develops artifacts in an understandable and presentable format
• Develops business analysis artifacts (use cases, wireframes, business models, needs, and features, etc.) to document “as-is” and “to-be” requirements and business process plans as they pertain to specific projects and/or functional area
• Identifies and communicates risks and issues to Project Manager/Scrum Master/Product Owner that may require changes to scope
• Elicits, analyzes, and validates the business needs of stakeholders, customers, and end users
• Validates the solution (people, process and technology) meets the business capability, product or system objectives
• Drives business process analysis to identify key business issues, gaps or needs
• Organizes and synthesize large amounts of information provided by stakeholders
• Partners with the project manager/scrum master to create a project Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and project schedule

Business Analysis Practice (Methodologies and Frameworks)

• Maintains compliance with and enforces company's standard policies and procedures.
• Aligns business analysis framework and approach to program and project methodology (Agile, Waterfall, etc.)
• Adheres to Project Management Office business analysis standards following traditional and Agile processes, recommending continuous improvements.
• Scales business requirements tools to the size and complexity of projects

Stakeholder Management

• Partners with stakeholders to prioritize requirements effectively based on business value, risks, and constraints
• Participates in the development and sales of SunStream products and services
• Manages relationship with internal and external stakeholders, keeping them informed of progress and issues to manage expectations

Minimum Qualifications

• 5 years of related experience
• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, business administration, finance, preferred or related field
• Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job

Required Knowledge and Skills

• Knowledge of Traditional and Agile Business Analysis methodologies and best practice
• Skill in collaborating with stakeholder to identify and document needs and features, and detailed requirements
• Skill in organizing material and information in a systematic way to optimize efficiency
• Skill in listening and conveying awareness of a customer's problem or issue to find resolution
• Skill in writing concise, logical, grammatically correct documentation to explain program/system specifications
• Knowledge of current and new technologies as well as best practices
• Skill in analyzing problems and recommending appropriate solutions
• Knowledge of Farm Credit systems, banking or lending
