Prince William Public Libraries (PWPL) is seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Branch Manager to provide leadership and direction at Montclair Library. The Branch Manager position is ideal for a leader with strong management skills who is ready to impact the fifth year of our current strategic plan and move PWPL into the next five-year plan. They must have a passion for creating an environment of teamwork that embraces change and excellent customer service. They must possess effective management skills and experience and be knowledgeable about the administrative and programmatic operations of public libraries.
About This Role:
- Managing the facility; submitting work requests as required.
- Supervises management staff, including creating and writing annual evaluations, and managing employees to improve/maximize performance.
- Engages in communication with our stakeholders and provides excellent internal and external customer service.
- Provides branch budget oversite, including managing the aspects of the Friends of the Library and completing all applicable financial paperwork.
Master's degree in library or information science and 3 years of related experience in Library Systems Operations.
- 2 years of facility management
- 2-3 years of experience with ILS, meeting room/event software, reading program software
- 1-2 years overseeing budget, payroll, managing grant, non-profit funding
- 2-3 years demonstrated successful management of a library department
- 2 years customer service experience
- 1-2 years implementing strategic plan objectives
- 2-3 years managing para-professional and professional staff
Work Schedule:
This is a full-time, 37.5 hours per week exempt positions. Montclair is currently open 6 days a week. The schedule includes days, evenings, and weekends. Schedule may vary depending upon the needs of the library.
Starting Salary Range: $88,939.50 - $103,900.88
