Library Branch Manager Jobs

Paid customer service work experience involving frequent interactions with the public.

Experience planning and/or presenting programs, utilizing books, crafts and/or other activities, to appropriate audiences.

Experience working in a library.

Collection Development: Reads reviews and offers suggestions to Acquisitions staff for selection of branch-appropriate materials; weeds collection on an on-going basis.

Opens and/or closes building in the absence of the manager and assistant manager.

High school diploma or equivalent.

8:00 p.m. Saturday: 9:00 a.m.

6:00 p.m. (with 1 hour unpaid lunch) SCHEDULE WHEN WORKING SUNDAY : Tuesday: 4:30 p.m.

8:00 p.m. Wednesday: 4:00 p.m.

6:00 p.m. (with 1 hour unpaid lunch) Sunday: 12:30 p.m.

Supervises management staff, including creating and writing annual evaluations, and managing employees to improve/maximize performance.

2-3 years demonstrated successful management of a library department

2 years of facility management

Develops and implements programs for young adults.

Performs difficult and involved reference work.

Has responsibility for the development of the young adult book collection.

Compiles annotated lists and bibliographies involving book and non-book materials.

May assist in recommending and/or planning changes in services or new services for young adults.

Assists in training professional and non-professional staff.
