Job Description
Neal R. Gross and Co., headquartered in Washington, DC, is expanding its team. We are a leading Court Reporting and Transcription services company serving clients Nationwide. We are seeking a skilled and experienced Bookkeeper to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and performing various accounting tasks. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and a solid understanding of bookkeeping principles.
Location: This is a hybrid role and will require going into the downtown Washington DC office about 3 days a week
At NRGCo, you will:
  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
  • Support the HR Manager by assisting with payroll processing and employee benefit administration, as needed.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to gather financial information and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Maintain confidentiality of financial information and exercise discretion in handling sensitive data.
  • Manage the company's financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
  • Process invoices, payments, and expense reports in a timely manner.
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial data by recording daily transactions and reconciling bank statements.
  • Prepare and submit financial reports, such as balance sheets and income statements, as required.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices and changes in accounting regulations.
What we look for:
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Experience with Quickbooks and Peachtree
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Solid understanding of bookkeeping principles and practices.
  • Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or equivalent role.
  • Proficiency in using accounting software and tools.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
Bonus Points:
  • Familiarity with court reporting or legal services industry.
  • Knowledge of tax regulations and filing requirements.
Expected salary:
  • $50,000-65,000 depending on experience level.
