Billings and Collections Specialist - Fulltime in-office position Monday-Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm
General Purpose:
Responsible for all aspects of patient/client billing and collections for designated branch(es), including but not limited to performing the billing function, ensuring timely payment, collections, perform branch payroll (back-up), and follow up. Ensures services rendered are paid for within ninety (90) days. Recommends, provides input and may develop policies, processes and resources to evaluate and improve the billing, accounts receivable collection effectiveness and efficiency for the branch(es).
:

• Interacts with Medicare and Medi-Cal biller to ensure timeliness of submissions, authorizations and payments and follows up as necessary
• Ensures proper controls are adhered to for accuracy and timeliness of billing.
• Accountable for the branch(es) accounts receivable balance, inclusive of billing and collections.
• Utilizes Axxess & Availity system to bill patients and clients and monitor status of billed and unbilled accounts.
• Performs collections function pro-actively to ensure timely payment.
• Payroll – back up fill in as needed

Job Requirements
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements:

• Proficient with software and systems.
• Minimum two (2) years healthcare billing experience inclusive of managed care.
• Detail oriented with strong organization, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Associates Degree in related field or equivalent work experience.
• Must have knowledge and experience in billing Medicare and Medi-Cal Part A
• In depth knowledge of healthcare industry billing.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
