Behavior Technician (Current Students)

Flex Learning, LLC is currently hiring a nonexempt part-time Behavior Technician position (approximately 30+ hours/week).

This is a great opportunity for students enrolled in college seeking to gain experience in the social services/developmental disabilities area. We implement a robust training program.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Implement in-home quality one-to-one direct instruction to children, adolescents, and young adults with developmental disabilities in communication, social, play, community, self-management, and adaptive skills
• Receive guidance, feedback, and support from clinical director/case supervisor
• Maintain effective communication with all team members and caregivers
• Compliance to all related company policies and procedures
• Participate in clinical meetings and staff trainings
• Record objective, daily data/session notes to reflect client progress toward goals

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

The majority of the work is performed in the client’s home

JOB LOCATION:

• Our administrative office is located in Downtown Long Beach. The majority of our cases are located in Long Beach &/or surrounding South Bay Cities (e.g., Ranchos Palos Verdes, Wilmington, San Pedro, Norwalk, Lakewood, Cerritos, Los Angeles, Culver City, Santa Monica, Huntington Park, Compton). Additional cities in Los Angeles County may be assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must pass TB test
• Proof of COVID-19 Vaccine
• Minimum of 6 months’ work or internship experience working with children, adolescents, or adults
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Successful completion of criminal history background check
• Possession of a High School Diploma is required. Working towards or possession of a bachelor’s degree in child development, psychology, special education, or related field is preferred
• Availability to work Monday through Friday between the hours of 9:00am-6:30pm & possibly Saturday 9:30am-2:30pm
• Ability to communicate effectively using both written and verbal skills
• Bilingual Spanish applicants strongly encouraged to apply
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and valid automobile insurance
