THE
ROLE
When you join the YES Prep team, some of the exciting work and responsibilities will include:
  • Providing direct behavior support to students on caseload, using a variety of methods, skills, and tools to provide this support;
  • Providing in-classroom behavior support to students on caseload;
  • Facilitating multi-disciplinary student case reviews to ensure fidelity in the implementation of Intervention Support Plans;
  • Collaboration with campus stakeholders to regularly collect and analyze student behavioral data through Functional Behavior Assessments, classroom observation, data systems review, and teacher and staff feedback;
  • Delivering evidence-based skill-building and behavior curricula to students referred for behavior concerns while maintaining high levels of behavioral and academic expectations for those students;
  • Developing Intervention Support Plans for students on a caseload with behavioral concerns in order to build their behavioral skill capacity and preserve student access to instruction;
  • Additional duties as assigned.
  • Participating in the Case Management System campus process;
  • Conducting ongoing campus professional development on the topics of best practices in behavior support, interventions, and classroom behavior management;

THE MUST HAVES
  • Experience working with students who experience significant behavioral challenges
  • Demonstrated ability to work on a team
  • Openness to giving and receiving frequent feedback
  • Strict adherence to organization confidentiality and compliance expectations
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks and initiatives at once
  • Willingness to develop competency in the utilization of YES Prep technology and programs, including PURPLE, Tableau, ESP, Hero, etc.
  • Experience developing and implementing behavior support plans for students with behavioral concerns
  • Ability to be flexible and adjust according to campus needs
  • At least one year of teaching experience with an outstanding record of instruction and student achievement or relevant experience working in a school setting
  • Belief in and commitment to the mission and core value of YES Prep Public Schools
  • Knowledge of current best practice methods and techniques for working with students with significant behavioral challenges
  • Ability to maintain emotional control under stress
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year educational institution

THE NICE TO HAVES
  • Texas Certification in Special Education (Generic)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a social science field

  • Compensation – This position is an exempt, salaried position; offers commensurate with experience.[HS5]
  • Health and Supplemental Insurance – A $0 monthly medical option that includes $600 towards a Health Savings Account, in addition to a variety of supplemental benefits including Dental, Vision, Disability, Life, etc. Employees must work 20+ hours a week to be eligible for a full spectrum of benefits, and 10 hours a week minimum for medical benefits.
