Job Description

Responsibilities

Provides behavior management support to children and families with serious developmental, intellectual, emotional, and behavioral problems in collaboration with clinical psychologists and behavioral consultants in the psychiatry and behavioral medicine unit. The BHTs work is directed by Nursing Leaders or designee. Incumbents are required to work with complex and acute psychiatric patients and be comfortable in dealing with stressful and quickly changing environments. This includes initiating appropriate interventions that promote a heathy and safe environment for patients, families and staff.

Requirements

Required Education/Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience
  • Minimum one (1) years of experience providing direct treatment services to children and families.

Required Credentials:

  • WA State Certified Behavior Technician Credential (CBT).
  • Registration as a Nursing Assistant in Washington State within 6 months of employment.
  • Safety Care certification (internal training) required within 3 months of hire and annually thereafter.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS).

Preferred:

  • Experience with multi-system involved children with severe behavioral problems, and developmental or intellectual disabilities.

- Previous experience in the implementation of behavioral assessment and treatment programs with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities.-

  • Familiarity/Interest in applied behavior analysis; interest in gaining hours towards certification as a Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA).

Min to Max Hourly Salary

$24.36 - $36.54 /hr

Min to Max Annual Salary

$50,671.00 - $76,006.00 /yr

Salary Information

This compensation range was calculated based on full-time employment (2080 hours worked per calendar year). Offers are determined by multiple factors including equity, skills, experience, and expertise, and may vary within the range provided.

Seattle Children's offers annual incentive pay based upon performance that is commensurate with the level of the position.
