JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION PURPOSE: We are looking for a Floral Designer who is positive and passionate! Our Floral Designer will be responsible for executing a wide variety of tasks throughout the store. The Floral Designer is a floral products expert who maintains and operates the produce floral department including designing, cutting and arranging live, dried or artificial flowers, gift baskets and foliage according to department standards. A Floral Designer is a responsible team player and always ready to learn. A Floral Designer can work at a fast pace, has a keen eye for safety and will be able to help execute an assortment of duties throughout the store.

Responsibilities: A Floral Designer is a responsible, friendly person who can safely work in a fast-paced environment and provide excellent customer service.

A Floral Designer’s responsibilities include:

• Maintaining a positive and friendly attitude towards customers and fellow team members.
• Pricing and displaying floral products in sales cases.
• Trimming material and arranging bouquets, wreaths and other items using trimmers, shapers, wire, pins, floral tape, foam and other materials.
• Actively selling merchandise.

• Filling customer orders correctly and filing the names of customers and their preferences to facilitate future sales transactions.
• Informing customers about the care, maintenance and handling of various flowers, foliage, indoor plants and other items.
• Conferring with customers regarding price and type of arrangement desired and the date, time and place of delivery.
• Advising customers of appropriate merchandise selections, conferring with customers regarding type of arrangement or plant desired.
• Receiving customer orders.

• Following approved procedures for receiving, code dating, storing, price marking and restocking products to ensure quality, accuracy and product rotation.
• Assisting in checking and verifying produce department's products.
• Taking received and prepared products to refrigerated storage, shelf and display areas.
• All other related duties as assigned
• Planning arrangements according to client's requirements, utilizing knowledge of design and properties of materials, and selecting appropriate standard design patterns.

The Floral Designer responsibilities will primarily be in the produce department but may also work in other departments as needed.

Qualifications:

Desired qualifications include:

• Friendly and customer service oriented. Interest in food and cooking a plus.

• Skills to communicate effectively with coworkers and customers
• Customer service, restaurant, barista, food service, grocery or similar experience desired
• Self-motivated, with a high attention to detail, quality and presentation
• Ability to work independently, effectively manage time and multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to read, understand and follow through on verbal and written directions

• Ability to reliably meet required work schedule and adhere to company attendance policy
• Must be 18 years of age

Employees may occasionally experience the following physical demands for an extended period:

Standing, Sitting, Lifting + Stocking (Up to 50 lbs.), Pushing, Keyboarding, Telephone Use, Walking, Bending

Salary Ranges:

The range displayed reflects the range the company reasonably expects to pay for the position. The actual compensation offered to the selected individual(s) will depend on their relevant education, training, or experience, among other bona fide factors.

Minimum Pay Rate: $15.20/Hr.

Maximum Pay Rate: $17.33/Hr.
