Sound Designer (Temporary/Part-Time)

The sound designer is responsible for the designs for all pre-recorded music, sound effects for a theatrical production.

Position Dates: September 1, 2023 - November 9, 2023

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Search through commercial audio libraries to find the right sounds for a project, when the right sounds cannot be found or licensed, record sounds in the studio or the field and process them through a digital audio processor
• Creating textures, and ambiances to work with the project’s story, as well as choosing, editing, and remixing music
• Closely collaborate with other designers to create a cohesive technical design

Job Requirements:

• Have previous sound designing experience
• Be able to mix audio and work audio sound board

The ideal candidate will have the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:

• Ability to mix audio and work audio sound board
• Experience with large variety of audio equipment

Preferred:

• Degree in sound design or enrolled in sound design educational program.

Physical Requirements:

Positions in this class typically require: talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
