We are seeking a Full-Time & Part-Time Bartender with a dynamic hospitality driven attitude to join our food & beverage team!

For nearly 100 years Monterey Peninsula Country Club has catered to a diverse Membership of more than 1,100 Members. We provide dining in five outlets amongst the Club House, Golf House, and two 18-hole golf courses.

As a Bartender at Monterey Peninsula Country Club, we will ask you to:

• Ensure members are charged accurately and correctly for all items consumed and correct member account is billed.
• Ensure all receipts generated at the bar are processed and retain according to Club procedures.
• Assist with food service when necessary.
• Ensure prompt, cordial and accurate service of liquor, wine, and other drinks at assigned outlet.
• Greet and acknowledge members and their guests by name, when known.
• Ensure all services to Members are provided in a highly professional and efficient manner with strong attention to detail.
• Describe all menu items including the method of preparation, major ingredients, garnish, and method of presentation for all menu items.
• Ensure that side stations are maintained with adequate supplies and are clean, organized, and clear of debris.
• Communicate inventory needs to management timely to ensure adequate supply is always available.
• Ensure that all Responsible Beverage Service standards are adhered to, report concerns to management.
• Take members and guests orders and inputs accurately and timely into POS system.
• Assist in room set-up.
• Prepare drinks in accordance with Club recipe and/or industry standards.

What we will need from you:

• One-year previous bartending experience in upscale restaurant environment.
• Private club, resort and/or hospitality experience preferred.
• Ability to work a flexible work schedule with availability on holidays, weekdays, and weekends.
• Knowledge of liquors, wines and beers and ability to describe each to Members and guests.
• Ability to maintain a well-groomed professional image and appearance as outlined in Employee Handbook and departmental standards.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, menus, and procedure manuals.
• Knowledge of general food service and bartending industry standards.
• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally in person with internal and external customers.
• Ability to read, understand and carry out written and verbal instructions.

Certifications and Licenses:

• Possess RBS certification or can obtain within 30.
• Possess Food Handler Certificate or can obtain within 30 days of hire date.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Must provide valid document(s) to work in the US.
